Chapter 23

Stephanie and Beamer were the last to arrive at Jason's place after school closed, Timi followed Jason home and Zuriel got there few minutes after.

"Where were you guys? since you didn't go home cause you're still in uniform?" Jason welcomed Stephanie and Beamer in.

"The two of them eh... Only God can prevail" Zuriel said.

Everyone laughed including Stephanie and Beamer.

They were initially supposed to have a study session at Jason's place but none of them was with a book, the subjects they're having tomorrow are pretty easy.

Stephanie and Beamer were snuggling and cuddling ignoring everyone's stares, Zuriel seemed the most frustrated out of all of them.

Stephanie and Beamer stopped when Mrs Jeffrey entered the room.

"How was you guys test today?" Mrs Jeffrey asked.

Everyone responded it was fine except from Jason.

"Jason what of you?" Mrs Jeffrey asked.

"It went well" Jason gave her a fake smile.

Mrs Jeffrey left for the kitchen to make up something for the kids, Zuriel snatched Stephanie from Beamer when he was distracted.

"I know what you'd do about her" Zuriel told Stephanie.

"About who?" Stephanie asked.

Zuriel just stared straight at Timi, Stephanie immediately understood she was referring to Moyo.

Zuriel went on with her crazy plan.

Timi asked to talk to Jason privately, this confused Jason, he was really hoping, it's not about Timi wanting to get back Together with him.

"I wan come stay your side during mid term break" Timi spoke vernacular.

"Why?" Jason asked not wanting Timi to stay.

"My parents and brothers no go dey house and I no fit stay alone" Timi said.

Jason told Timi he'd take it up with his mother, Timi didn't think it'd be a big deal since he's spent nights at his place before.

The next morning in school, Jason met only Timi reading in class sitted where he was the day before.

"Good morning" they greeted each other.

"Where's Moyo? I've not seen you with her since, what happened?" Jason asked out of curiosity.

"....I don't even know, it's been long since we spoke, I still believe she's the one who reported Zuriel... Even tho I begged her not to" Timi said.

Jason dropped his bag and sat down to listen more. "That's why you haven't spoken since?"

"We had sex" Timi blurted out " ....and it didn't end well, I think she thinks I'm gay or something"

Jason could not unpack what Timi just dropped on him, he didn't even know how to respond. The way Timi used the word 'gay' so freely shocked him the most, it's been like a prohibited word to them.

Balikis interrupts them and says "your mum is our invigilator today"

All this felt too much for Jason, he didn't know what was worse, that his ex had sex with a girl or his mum is their invigilator?

Lateef, Lekan and Malik entered the class, they went to straight to seat behind, Malik was there to help his brother out with some things.

Lateef forgot something at the gate so he left to go get it, this was the perfect time for Lekan to ask Malik about Chika.

"Is Chika coming today?" Lekan asked.

"I don't know" Malik pretended not to care.

"I know you guys are still talking... your brother isn't here, so stop pretending" Lekan said, Malik looked him straight in the eye and said nothing. "You fought Olamide because of Chika?" Lekan asked. "Am I wrong? Yes or yes?"

"I didn't ask him if he was coming but he told Tope he's coming" Malik gave in. Lekan dismissed him and promised not to tell Lateef.

Invigilators started entering their respective classes hours later, SSS3 students sighed in despair when Mrs Jeffrey walked in, even Jason.

She made no comment, her eyes alone spoke to them, they sat like they did yesterday except Lekan and Lateef, Zuriel didn't bother complaining cause she gets to sit with Timi and Jason again so it's a win win.

Mrs Jeffrey wasn't too comfortable with her son sitting at the back, but she left him there since she was following protocol.

Mrs Jeffrey didn't take her eyes off Jason's roll when the test started, Zuriel felt the most irritated from this cause she couldn't cheat.

Mrs Jeffrey grabbed a plastic chair to sit at the back beside Jason making things worse.

Jason felt extremely embarrassed, he knows the stupid kids are going to constantly attack him about this once their papers are over.

Mrs Jeffrey finally stood up to walk around, with that little time Zuriel got she copied half of everything Timi had written.

Mrs Jeffrey stepped on a piece of paper which she bent down to pick up, Jason sighed in exasperation cause he knew she wouldn't let it go.

"Who owns this paper?" The contents in the paper were that of yesterday's but Mrs Jeffrey was still bothered. "All of you stand up.... No sit back down... You want to use that one and cheat" Mrs Jeffrey started checking their papers for a match with the handwriting.

The paper actually belonged to Lekan which everyone was aware of, Jason had to make up an excuse before she got to check Lekan's script.

"It's from the other class, it's one of them that'd have dumped it there" Jason said, his mother wanted to believe him so she let it go but still kept the paper in hand.
