Chapter 29

Zino stayed outside while Stephanie and Jason argued, Zino was scared to death of what Stephanie would do about what she saw.

He knew he shouldn't have let Jason but Jason wouldn't stop.

Jason was trying to reason with Stephanie, he knew the consequences of his actions but he still did it anyways, a part of him was happy that Stephanie caught them, he's been dying to tell her, but he doesn't like talking about his feelings or anything.

"I thought you of all people would understand... You said when I'm ready you'd listen now please listen..." Jason tries explaining himself.

"Understand what? How am I suppose to understand you making out with another guy?" Stephanie asked.

"...the way you talk about 'gays' and..."

"That's on TV.... This is real life!!! Jason you're my bestfriend, I won't lie to you. This is wrong!"

"You think I've not heard that? Do you really think I chose this? Stephanie you know the truth! Stop being in denial, nothing you say or do will change me"

"You and Timi are the two of you...?" Stephanie asks, Jason's expression was a good enough answer "WOW! that's what's been going on between you guys...I don't even know what to say"

Jason just needed to give her space, everything was too much on Stephanie so he left.

He met Zino outside who kept asking what went down.

"She's not going to tell anybody... I know her, she's just stressed out" Jason assured Zino. "What made you know you liked boys?" Jason asked.

"Why are you asking?" Zino wondered.

"With everything that is happening...I just wanted to know... I want Stephanie to understand"

"You want to go and tell her??"

"No no"

"Well it was you"

Jason felt flattered.

"Me always asking about your sister was just an excuse to talk to you... I swear I hated what I felt" Zino revealed.

"Me too"

Jason felt empathetic towards Zino, he felt Zino didn't really understand sexuality himself so he didn't have to go through all that.

Beamer and Timi met 10year-olds playing on the field, Timi didn't want to interrupt but Beamer went and made a deal with them.

The kids agreed to let them have the field but Beamer had to let them play football with them.

Timi noticed two boys amongst the kids that were so cooperative, they reminded him of himself and Jason in primary school.

He wanted to just go back to the good old days.

Timi got really tired, he asked one of the kids to sub for him after he went to sit at the end of the field, Beamer didn't just want to leave him sitting there alone so he went and sat with him.

"See how small they are... We were much taller than this when we were around their age" Beamer stated.

"I swear" Timi said.

The kid playing for Beamer was asked to leave by one of the other kids, Beamer noticed a fuss between them but he didn't want to interfere until the other kid started calling his sub homophobic slurs.

"Hey are you mad?" Beamer asked the kid bullying.

Apparently the kid was attacking Beamer's sub for being effeminate, Beamer despised bullying so much, he had to intervene.

"Get out from the field" Beamer told the bully. "I don't want to see you here again... And none of you in your life should ever use such words on anyone ever" the kid reluctantly left the field. Beamer just stared at him and he ran away.

Timi was beyond shocked of how Beamer reacted, it made him really glad to see people being more open minded these days.

Malik managed to sneak out of his house without his brother noticing so he could get to Chika's.

Chika hugged Malik when he saw him at his gate, Malik didn't know what to do but to hug back.

"Be fast oh, before my brother would know I'm no longer at home" Malik said.

Chika checked the time and saw it was two in the afternoon, he hadn't still eating breakfast and for some reason had no appetite for it, all that kept going through his head was what to say to Malik.

Chika and Malik sat together staring at the clock, Malik was in a hurry so he was waiting for what Chika had to say, Chika was just lost in his thoughts.

"What did you want to tell me? I'd soon be going oh" Malik broke the silence.

"Malik do you like me?" Chika finally asked.

"Yes of course I like you" Malik smiled.

"Well I like you too" Chika kissed Malik.

Malik gently pushed him off "guy not like that now"

Chika's heart started pounding, he knew he made a big mistake, 'why'd he kiss him?' he thought to himself.

"Let me start going" Malik left awkwardly.
