Chapter 24

Malik and Tope already had extra sheets beside them, ready to write Chika's papers since he hadn't shown up.

Chika got to school around 9AM, he tried running to class but that was hopeless.

The invigilator told him to write his papers outside since he came late, Chika wished he had just stayed home and probably had Malik and Tope write his papers for him but that'd have been selfish and stupid cause he can get in trouble.

Chika had problems in maths, no one was around to help him, he just chewed the cover of his pen thinking of what he could've done if Malik had stayed.

When the invigilator came to check on him, he started pushing random buttons on his calculator till she went back inside.

Only Pascal had finished with his papers, he got out and switched question papers with Chika that had answers on it.

Chika was really grateful especially with the fact that he didn't ask, he didn't thank him tho cause he left real quick.

Chika finally understood what he was missing that made him not get it.

Chika went to meet Tope and Malik when he was done with his last paper before break. The pain in his butt had reduced compared to the day before.

Stephanie and Moyo went through their past questions during break cause they saw a similar question today.

"I knew I had done this before... I need to start reading these past questions" Moyo mentioned.

"I swear" Stephanie agreed.

Zuriel disrupted their conversation just to make Moyo mad.

"Wait Stephanie did you do number two in Civic?" Zuriel asked.

Stephanie knew what Zuriel was trying to do but she still paid attention to Moyo.

Moyo knew her staying there would only make things worse so she left.

"I hope you're happy you chased her away" Stephanie said, Zuriel smirked.

Zino sat with Jason and Timi on the pavillion since they were unable to practice for football during the mid terms.

Zino made small talk with them and tried to resist the urge to touch Jason's lap.

"Did you guys use dubs?" Zino asked.

"Yesterday small sha, but Today Jason's mummy was our invigilator" Timi said. Zino laughed.

"That woman should stop, I'm tired of her... She's so annoying, I know she'll not rest until she finds out whose paper is that" Jason spoke bad about his mum

"She's still your momsy" Zino laughed.

Zino had to leave since his papers had already started, Moyo walked past the front of the pavilion moments later, they all just stared at each other.  Jason broke it off by asking Timi to follow him to class. He felt he kind off made Moyo jealous, whether it was intentional or not, he liked it.

Mrs Jeffrey wouldn't stop complaining about everyone coming late to class after break, she shared their scripts aggressively and gave them no extra time.

They already knew her tactics, so they found their way around without getting caught.

This wasn't the same for Jason, once his mother is around, there's nothing he can do.

Beamer was almost done with his paper, he was going to give Lekan his dubs once he finished, Lekan was impatient, he hurried Beamer to write quickly.

It'd have been easier if Lekan sat with Beamer but he was just beside him but on the other roll. Beamer tried to go as fast as he could, Lekan kept calling his name till Mrs Jeffrey heard.

Mrs Jeffrey told Lekan to submit and leave the class, Lekan did as she said, She called him back when she found out his handwriting was a match to the piece of paper she saw earlier in the day.

There was no saving him again, Mrs Jeffrey punished him and threatened to take the case to the school authorities.

Everyone had finished their papers except food and nutrition students, they wrote their papers last, Malik and Chika had to go without Tope since she offered food and nutrition.

Malik and Chika sat at the back of the block were they normally hang out.

"How did Lekan know about us?" Malik asked Chika.

Chika hearing Malik refer to them as "us" really numbed his heart, he wanted to blush but it'd have been weird given the time.

"I don't know... I was also surprised he knew and he didn't tell your brother" Chika said.

Malik was a bit scared of what his brother would do to him if Lekan ended up telling.

Lateef was already upset about yesterday since someone told him they saw Malik going to Chika's.

"But what of Olamide?" Chika asked.

"The boy is stupid but he's also afraid of my brother... He can not tell him anything" Malik said.

Chika wanted to address the elephant in the room which was what happend between them yesterday but he saw Zuriel coming from her block.

"Chika you came today? What happened yesterday?" Zuriel sat in between them.

"I wasn't feeling fine and my leg was paining me" Chika's respose.

"I needed you yesterday but no need get well soon" Zuriel pat his head and left.
