No one ever listened to him. Growing up, his family discarded anything he said and he was sick of it, so when he finally went to Hogwarts he decided he would make people listen, he'd be loud and brash and people would finally hear him.

"Sirius Black, and you are?" He said confidently as he shook the hand of a scrawny black-haired kid.

"James Potter, nice to meet you! Oh, and this is Peter." James said, moving aside slightly to introduce his chubby dark blonde friend, who was trying to chew his way through the plastic wrapping on a chocolate frog box.

"Mmnn- oh, hi." Peter said when he realised Sirius was looking at him.

"Can I sit with you?" Sirius asked, as they boarded the train and James excitedly agreed, the three found a carriage and went inside, leaving the door open so they could watch people pass.

"So you said your names Sirius Black, as in the Black family?" James asked as he got comfortable on the seat.

"Yeah," Sirius sighed "unfortunately."

"What's so bad about them?" James asked, his parents had mentioned the family in passing but he didn't know much about them other than they were incredibly powerful and extremely rich.

"They're... well, very old fashioned let's say. Plus, they don't like me a whole lot." Sirius shrugged, and before James could respond another boy spoke from the open doorway.

"Hi, um, the train is quite full, is it okay if I sit with you guys?" The boy spoke quite meekly, and Sirius shuffled aside so the boy could sit next to him.

"Of course! I'm James." James said, smiling brightly and shaking the boys hand.

"Oh, nice to meet you. I'm Remus." Remus replied, still sounding quite shy.

"This is Peter, and that's Sirius." James said, nodding his head toward the boys as he introduced them. Remus smiled at both of them, and Sirius couldn't help but admire him, he was so adorably shy and he had this beautiful way about him that Sirius couldn't quite pinpoint.

"So, what houses do you guys wanna be put in?" Peter asked, finishing off his chocolate frog and licking his fingers, which were covered in melted chocolate.

"I just know I'm gonna be a Gryffindor, I mean most my family is and I'm super brave, not to brag." James said, a smug grin on his lips.

"I just hope I'm not in Slytherin..." Sirius said, trying to keep his confidence but sounding somewhat nervous as he spoke.

"Slytherin can't be so bad, I mean surely there's been some good people come out of it?" Remus said, noticing the anxiety in Sirius' voice and trying to ease it before continuing on "as for me, I'm not sure which house I'd like to be in... I mean I do like reading, so maybe Ravenclaw?"

"I'm with you, Remus, I have no idea." Peter shrugged.

"Oh! And mark my words, I'm gonna make the quidditch team by second year." James grinned obnoxiously.

"You and me both." Sirius laughed.

"I don't really understand quidditch, I mean do you know how many injuries there are? oh- er, sorry." Remus said, catching himself and going red. Sirius couldn't help but smile, and when he saw the blush on Remus' cheeks he felt butterflies in his stomach. The conversation wore on and within a few hours they got word that they were approaching Hogwarts and should change into their robes.
