Kind of mature content warning??

The party is nice, mostly due to the fact that we didn't invite a whole ton of people. Don't get me wrong, Josh around any group calls for chaos, but so far we've kept it pretty in check. Jake was being pulled away every second to talk to someone about his Gibson deal, I mean it when I say it was super big for him. I've barely seen him, but I don't mind at all, this is a party for him, not a party for us to only talk to each other. Plus, at the end of the day, I'm the one who gets to go back home with him.

I stand at the kitchen counter making myself a drink when I feel a hand grab my arm to turn me around. It wasn't a firm grip, but I knew it was one of the boys.

"Fireworks?" Josh says quickly

"...Fireworks?" I ask with a raised eyebrow. What the hell was the supposed to mean?

"Absolutely amazing, I'm so happy you agree! Meet us in the back in 5 minutes and bring your lighter." was all he gave me before patting my shoulder, turning on his heel, and wandering off. What a strange man.

Fireworks were something we loved in Frankenmuth, since the twins turned 18 before any of us so they could go buy them and those of us who were underage could feel cool. It was an adrenaline rush that the boys just never seemed to get over.

I pull my lighter from my pocket and flick it a few times in my hand as I head to the back, meeting all four boys along with a few other people, who stood in front of an impressive array of different fireworks and firecrackers.

"Finally!'" Josh exclaims, "Shall we?"

I laugh and join them by Sammy's side, watching Josh set the first ones into the ground.

"Who gets to light this one?" Sam asks as Josh backs away back to where we are.

"Jake should," I say, holding my lighter out to him which he takes, "it's his night."

He gives me a soft smile and walks over, lighting up the end before backing up, everyone getting rowdy as the pops start in the sky, all of the color cascading down. Josh put a ton together, so it was like our own personal fireworks show.

I feel two arms wrap around my waist, a feeling too familiar to startle me. I lean my head against Jake's, his chin resting on my shoulder and his thumbs softly rubbing my stomach over the material of my dress. "You look beautiful," he says, just loudly enough for me to hear. I feel my cheeks warm up as I turn my head to look at him a little better, I could see the reflection of the fireworks going off in his eyes. "I could say the same to you" I whisper, kissing his cheek softly and causing him to hold me a little tighter.

We must have stayed that way for a while, just watching the fireworks with each other, because eventually the show had ended. That didn't stop everyone from picking from the various other fireworks and lighting them on their own, creating more booming than before. The sounds were a bit overwhelming, which Jake must have caught onto.

"Come with me," he says, pulling away but taking my hand and leading me into the house to a room upstairs. It was a sort of open upstairs with 3 rooms, Sam's room, a bathroom, and a room they used for games and movies. The open middle space was like Sam's own living room, it was nice for him and Danny to be able to have their own spaces. Jake takes me into the movie room and we sit down on the comfortable couch where he pulls me close with an arm around my shoulders. I lay my head on his shoulder instinctively and close my eyes.

"Are you having fun?" I ask softly, feeling him nod.

"Of course I am, this party is great MJ, thank you," his voice is genuine and I can hear the smile on his face.

"Oh don't thank me, your brothers and Danny did a ton of work."

"Well, that doesn't mean you didn't."

I shrug and look up at him, his fingers softly running over my hair while our eyes meet. "I wanna hear all about the shoot tomorrow, they're probably looking for you downstairs," I say quietly.

Jake shakes his head and pulls me into his lap, my knees on either side of him and our faces mere inches apart. "They can wait a little longer, you didn't let me finish thanking you." he had a different look in his eyes now, like he was longing for something unsaid, and I'm sure my eyes closely mirrored it.

Before I could say a word, he pressed his lips to mine, closing the already narrow space and holding my waist firmly. When Jake kissed me this time, it was different, it's like we were both waiting years for this kiss, as if the others hadn't happened. Both of us move in sync as our lips part, our bodies pressing closer together by the second as his left hand moves to my thigh, slowly snaking up to the exposed skin of my hip under my dress. His rough fingers on my skin felt like lightning. My fingers tangle into his hair, tugging it just lightly as I feel him pull away and start leaving soft kisses down the side of my neck. I look down at him as he does, playing with his hair and keeping him close before he moves back up my neck, finding a spot just below my ear and eliciting a soft breath from me. He looks at me with that famous mischievous smirk and I roll my eyes with a smile, "just come here," I say, putting my hands on the sides of his face and pulling him back into a kiss, just as hungry as before but still taking it slow. Our bodies move together, grinding together at a subtle pace while he tugs at my dress.

"Oh," I hear, causing me to quickly pull back and Jake to snap his head around to look towards the door, both of us spotting Alex with Josh close behind her, almost the same grin painted on his face. "We're gonna uh... sorry!" she says awkwardly, pulling Josh with her as she quickly closes the door and runs off.

Jake laughs as he looks back at me, I knew my face was as red as a strawberry at this point. I lean in and bury my face in his neck, closing my eyes. "Oh my god that was so embarrassing," I mumble, feeling him still laughing as he rubs my back.

"You looked like you saw a ghost," he says, causing me to pull away and give him a playful slap on his shoulder. "You should have locked the door if you had plans!" I exclaim, not being able to help but smile.

"I just wanted to properly thank you!" he licked his lips quickly as he looked at me, making me laugh while I remove myself from his lap.

"Well now, that's your problem," I say, gesturing down and watching his cheeks heat up as he shakes his head, calling me evil and getting up as well. After he gets himself decent, I peck his lips one more time before we head back down to the party and he joins the boys while I stay back, going around and taking as many pictures as I can. I take some of all four boys together, some of each of them individually, some of the random people of things, anything I could find that I wanted to remember.

"I took a couple of you guys earlier, I hope you don't mind that I used the film." I hear Alex say as she walks over to me with a smile. I give her a questioning look and she explains, "two of you and all of the boys, when you guys were doing fireworks, then one when you and Jake were watching them together. You just looked so happy." she smiles. Alex has always been one of the few people who can recognize when I'm genuinely happy, and tonight was one of those nights for sure.

"Well thank you, I can't wait to see them when they're printed. I'm sorry about earlier, I guess I didn't think about locking the door." I say awkwardly, making her giggle which lightened the mood a ton. "I should be the one apologizing, I felt like we interrupted something you guys have been waiting years for, or at least that's what Josh said." he may be the oldest, but he was just as much a little shit as Sammy.

"Well, I wouldn't say that, we've never seen each other as anything more than friends until more recently," I say, shaking my head quickly.

Alex laughs again and pulls her phone out, pulling up the pictures she had been taking all night and bringing up one of me and Jake talking in the kitchen towards the beginning of the night, standing with all three of the other guys. I could tell it was when Danny was talking, but Jake's eyes were on me.

"Now, tell me you guys have never felt like anything else after seeing the way he looks at you when you're not paying attention."
