Smut warning, 18+ please!
It took less than 12 hours for everything to go south. As much as my accounts on every platform were private, the band accounts aren't, and it's my job to run them. While all of the comments have been killing me, I've done a convincing job of covering it up. Last night, the boys sold out the last show of this mini-tour, meaning that the two weeks were finally up and today would be spent on the road heading home to Nashville. While everyone is out in the living room area celebrating finally going home and playing games, I decide to stay in the bed that Jake and I had been sharing to have a little time alone. I love being around my best friends and boyfriend, but being with them 24/7 means I haven't had any time to use a healthy coping mechanism to work through this, I've just kept it bottled up.
I scroll through the comments of a post from a fan page, a picture of Jake with a fan that I had taken on our way out of a venue. I love their fans, I really do, but some of the things they say about people they've never even heard speak are disgusting. Whether it's about my body, my looks, how they think I'm using him for fame or money, it all hurts just the same.
"You busy in here?" I hear Sam ask, my eyes darting up from my phone to see him open the curtain. I lock my phone and toss it to the side, earning a confused look from my best friend that I simply shrug off.
"Nope, not busy, what's up Sammy?" My voice sounded as if I wasn't just reading through comments telling me they'd rather see me dead, I've always been good at sounding like I have my shit together.
"I dunno, you tell me, you're the one not hanging out with everyone," he says, looking down at me with a tinge of concern lacing his expression.
"I'm just sleepy is all Sam, go hang out with your brothers, we can all do something fun when we get home." I nod, watching him reach for my phone but grabbing it before he can.
"What were you looking at?"
"Nothing, I was reading a new book I've been wanting to check out," the look on his face let me know that he was completely not buying it, but he nods anyway with a small sigh, setting my phone down next to me and heading back into the living room with his bandmates.
I look back at the picture, reading a couple more comments and sighing as I close out the app and toss my phone aside, getting out of the bed and heading into the living room.
"There she is!" Danny says with a smile, "come on, we'll deal you in, we're playing rummy."
I send a faint smile to the boy as he lays down cards on the table for me right next to Jake, who was sitting in the bench seat. I take a seat beside Jake and kiss his cheek, picking my cards up and laying my legs over his lap as I sort through them. Fake it till you make it, right?

We're home within a few hours, each of us grabbing our stuff and saying our goodbyes at the studio before getting into our respective cars where I find Jake waiting at the trunk of mine since we came to the studio separately before leaving.
"Here, let me help," he says, taking one of my two bags from my hands and placing it in the trunk before grabbing the other and doing the same, closing the door and looking at me with a little smile. "You want me to pick up dinner or anything?"
"I was thinking the same thing," I nod, "I'm definitely not cooking tonight. I can pick it up though, I wanna drive around anyways, anything sound good?"
He thinks for a second and shrugs, "surprise me?"
I roll my eyes with a little laugh, "I'm sure I can figure something out, I'll be home in like 30 minutes, don't burn the house down," I smile, pecking his lips quickly and getting into my car, waving to the boys as I drive off.
