An alarm clock went off, waking Layva up and feeling awful. Her first day at a school in years and she ended up getting into a fight. To make matters worse, she had to carry the bloodied and clawed body of the boy she had fought into the headquarters. She had lost her familiar ring as well but retrieved it from the boy's pocket. Since she had it back, she didn't care enough to ask the boy why he had it in the first place. She was exhausted after training late into the night. When she finally dozed off, she was awoken to scythe screeching in the hallway about the half dead boy trying to make a break for it.

She then had to listen to Rolist and Beangela explain things to the boy before he blasted her across the kitchen with his mystic. Although, it was a treat to see Nix tied up like that.

She brushed her teeth and hair, showered and went to her closet. She reached in and grabbed the first thing she touched, pulling out a bright neon green t-shirt and a pair of red jeans. She shrugged and began to get dressed. She slipped her feet into a pair of brown sneakers and barely gave herself a glance in the mirror as she walked out of her room.

She entered the kitchen, her eyes only half open and went to the coffee maker, but the machine was nowhere to be found.

"I can't handle this today. Fordney, can you come here please?" She called out

The headquarters butler entered the kitchen on silent feet a moment later.

"Yes mistress." He said in his eerie voice. He was wearing a suit today instead of a blazer. He had on his usual thin veil covering his face, today it was light blue. For the years that she had lived here, she had never seen the butler's face and never cared to ask.

"Where is the coffee maker?" she said, yawning.

"Master Bruce shattered it last night with his...outburst." Fordney said in his whisper-like voice.

Layva swore. He ruins everything! she thought.

"'I will purchase a new one post haste, mistress." Fordney took a small bow.

Layva awkwardly shifted on her feet, not knowing how to apologize for snapping.

"Okay. I have to go. And don't call him master! He won't be around that long."

Fordney bowed again, his vail swaying as he spoke. "Enjoy school mistress, the bus will arrive shortly."

I should probably learn how to drive soon. Layva thought as she walked outside to find Kopierce looking satisfied while eating Fordnay's spaghetti. Layva just remembered that she didn't eat breakfast and her stomach growled. Damn. Was school always this early?

"Sleep much?" Bruce teased, noticing her half open eyes

"I slept fine, mind your own damn business." She mumbled, too drained to come up with anything better.

"Tell that to your face. Oh! And who was the creepy dude with the veil on?"

Bruce shivered. "His voice made him sound like the type of guy you'd find watching kids in the bushes of a park." He raised his finger to his chin in mock thought. "But he does make this killer spaghetti soooo," He rammed another fork full into his mouth. "He checks out." He said through a mouthful.

Layva cringed at the display. She looked him up and down. He was wearing one of Nix's shirts that was a little too short that read 'never skip leg day', paired with some of Rolist's sweatpants that were too baggy on the boy. He looked so out of place that it almost made her smile. Almost.

Bruce arched an eyebrow at her with a grin on his face "Hey i didn't pick this, okay? You on the other hand." He glanced at her clothing choice.

Why does everyone judge my outfits? She asked herself. I think they look good enough.
