“Kids? Hey kids!” Bruce and Layva snapped out of their stupors as Bianca spoke to them. The large bodyguard had Rolist’s unconscious form resting on one shoulder and Nix on the other.
“Come on. I don’t get paid if my employers are dead. We’re getting out of here!”

Bruce and Layva exchanged glances, their expressions of disbelief and shame mirroring one another.

“R-right.” The boy stood to his feet and made his way to Kai. Bruce grimaced as he saw his best friend’s broken arm. “Good work out there, buddy.” He whispered to the unconscious boy while picking him up. “Sorry… you had to do it alone.”

Layva stared at Ravel’s face. Tears of blood ran from the redhead’s closed eyelids, the price of using so much speed. Layva’s entire body shook with rage.

“I was the one who was supposed to keep you safe.” She said softly while wiping clean Ravel’s face. “I was the one who trained for years, yet you had to save me.” Her hands balled into fists as her sole activated on its own.

“Him!” She growled as a calm set of red and black eyes appeared in her mind. “He tried to take it from me again!” Layva slammed her fist to the ground, cracking the stone floor. She slowly raised her head, a look of determination forming in her eyes. “I’ll never give him another chance.”

“Layva.” Bruce said weakly from behind her, Clover and Kai on his shoulders. “We’re leaving.”

The girl discreetly wiped her eyes and scooped Ravel into her arms. “Yeah, okay.” She paused as she saw the reltique Majesty had thrown at her. Layva flashed a quick look at Bruce, making sure he wasn’t looking, before pocketing it.

“How the hell do you make these things work?” Bianca asked while she fiddled with Nix’s unbolt. “Do I just fill it with sole, like a weapon?”

Bruce took the key from the woman’s hand. “You have to draw a stupid symbol.” He said while opening a portal back to their dimension.

Once sneaking out of the observatory, which wasn’t easy considering the unconscious bodies they carried, the three made it to the limousine they arrived in.

“Okay, can either of you drive?” The bodyguard asked. Bruce shook his head and looked at Layva. The girl just stared out the window blankly. Bianca sighed and asked for the address.

“Unamed!” Beangula exclaimed as they entered the mansion with the others on their backs. She quickly called Fordnay and got everyone to the medical room. The next half hour consisted of getting alll of the unconscious people wrapped in lindium gauze.

As Beangula focused on setting broken bones and Fordnay left to get morphine Bianca told the former of Majesty’s true form and his unprecedented strength.

Beangula flinched as she heard the word zenith. “Did…” She gulped. “Did this zenith... have silver hair that was iridescent at the tips, hard black skin, and eerie eyes?”

“Yeah.” Bruce answered halfheartedly while sending sole into Kai’s bandages. “He famous or something?”

The Horizon let go of Nix and Rolist’s gauze as she stepped away from the beds. “No.” She said quietly while holding a hand over her mouth. “No no no no!” Her head whipped towards Layva, who was healing Clover and Ravel.

“It couldn’t have been him! Was it really... Meridian?”

The girl didn’t meet the woman's gaze as she nodded curtly. Beangula fell to her knees and began to tremble. “Unamed save us all.”

Bruce and Bianca exchanged looks of confusion. “Umm.” The boy asked. “Care to brush us up on the lore?”

Beangula stood back to her feet, before having to sit in a nearby chair. “Bruce… do you know the number of nadir types?”
The boy nodded. “Yeah, I guess.” He said with a shrug. “I mean the only one I remember was a kaiju, and for a good reason.”
