Bruce and Kai walked into the Lively Mansion and saw the destruction. “Whoa, did Rave do all this?” The former asked as he studied the destroyed room.
“I doubt it.” Kai assumed as he saw multiple huge spears jutting out of the walls and ceilings. “I think these are porcupine quills.” He observed while he stepped into a pile of goo. “And is this… spider webbing?” He struggled to get his foot unstuck from the substance.
“Well it’s official.” Bruce commented as he picked up a huge feather. “Ravel’s fight was way more interesting than ours.” He sniffed the air and grimaced. “And why does it smell like vomit in here?”
“Hello?” Said a weak voice. The boys turned to find Ravel on the floor. They ran over to her.
“Ravel! Oh god, what happened?” Kai asked as he studied her bloody body. Bruce left them to look for Baron and Duchess.
She looked in the direction of the voice. “Kai? Bruce? Is that you?” She asked.
“Yeah Ravel, it’s us.” He confirmed
“Oh thank Unamed you are both alright!” She sighed in relief. “I’m so happy they didn’t get you all too.”She said softly as a tear ran down her face. It was only then that Kai noticed.
“Ravel… are you blind?” He asked as fear began to grip him.
She was quiet for a moment before flashing him a bloody smile. “Don’t worry about me! I’ll be right as rain! But what about Laylay and Clover? Are they with you?”
Kai suddenly felt immense rage towards Baron. He wanted to ball his fingers into fists but resisted the urge. He grabbed Ravel’s hand reassuringly instead. “No, they aren’t, but Clover is fighting Count. I’m sure she can hold her own.”
“And Layva is too stubborn to die.” Bruce added as he rejoined them. “There is no way she’d get taken out by that shortstack.”
“Look at you, Kopierce. You’re learning.” Said a voice.
Everyone turned to find Layva limping through the hole in the wall she made earlier. Bruce tried to help her walk, she shoved him aside and asked where Ravel was. Her eyes widened as she saw her friend on the ground. She ran to the redhead, pushed away Kai, and slid to her knees.
“Rave! I’m here! You’ll be alright!” Bruce had never heard such concern or love in the girl’s voice. Ravel reached a hand up to touched Layva’s face. She struggled to find it
“Laylay! I’m glad you're safe.” Ravel beamed.
Layva’s face contorted with rage. “Where is Baron!” She demanded. “I’ll kill him! I’ll cut his head off!”
There's the Layva I know.
“He’s over there.” Bruce pointed toward the kitchen. “Him and Duchess are both knocked out. What about Marquis? Did you take care of her?”
Layva looked up at him in anger before she forced herself to calm down. “She's dead. What else?” She reached for her back pocket to pull out some lindium gauze but realized that she was still in her pajamas.
“Damn it.” She muttered to herself. “Ravel, did you bring any of the bandages with you?”
“There should be some in the glove compartment of the car.” She said while pointing in the wrong direction of the limousine.
“I’ll go get it!” Kai voluntered before running off to back the vehicle out of the wall he’d driven it into.
“Well the gang's all here and accounted for except for Clover.” Bruce noticed.
