(Y/N)'s POV

I woke up to the sound of people chattering and moving around. I groaned and slowly sat up, rubbing my messy hair.

The Hermes cabin was abuzz with talk. So annoying. Can't a guy get some sleep around here? I yawned and looked around.

"What's going on?" I managed to get out before yawning again.

Luke walked over to me and knelt down. I couldn't read the expression on his face. "They think that the Minotaur was spotted outside of camp."

My ears perked up. This was interesting. "Really? You think they'd let me go out and fight it?" I grinned.

Luke snorted and shook his head. "It's too late. It's already dead."

My grin was replaced by a scowl. "Aww, who killed it then?"

"A new camper. Or that's what I've been hearing from pretty much everyone. Especially the Naiads," Luke replied.

My eyes widened in surprise. A new camper managed to kill the Minotaur? They must've been really skilled then.

"Well, that is unfortunate. If you need me, I'll be asleep," I said as I pulled the sleeping bag covers over my face.

Luke raised an eyebrow and laughed. "I thought you of all people would want to see who this guy is?"

"Maybe when it's not three or four in the morning." My reply was muffled.

Luke laughed and stood up, walking away. I was eventually able to fall asleep again when the excitement died down.

...

Mr. D forbade anyone from going into the Big House to see the person who killed the Minotaur. Well, Annabeth could, which I thought was unfair at first before I realized she was basically nursing them back to health.

Whenever she left the Big House, I would pester her for information or at the very least hints on who this person was. She got annoyed pretty fast and only told me that they were a male, about twelve years old, and that he drooled a lot.

The big thing that surprised me was that he was twelve. A twelve year old killed the Minotaur? Okay, that was hard to believe. But it seemed like Chiron and Mr. D believe it so it must be true.

If he really was twelve, I guess Annabeth believes that he's the one she's been waiting for. Also that probably explains why she's taking care of him.

I really wanted to see the guy, and I finally got that chance two days later when Annabeth told me to go to the porch of the Big House.

"So I take it I get to finally meet this kid?" I asked her.

She nodded. "He's an interesting one, for sure."

When we reached the porch, Chiron and Mr. D were sitting at a table getting ready to play pinochle. Chiron was in his wheelchair.

"Ah, (Y/N), I'm glad you got here as fast as you could," Chiron said.

I nodded my head in greeting. "I've been anxious to meet this person. But why I am the only one here?"

Mr. D took a sip of his Diet Coke and looked at me straight in the eye. That was not a pleasant feeling. "You are going to be his tour guide of this camp."
