(Y/N)'s POV

I couldn't help but perspire as I felt Chiron and Mr. D's eyes on me.

I was sitting alone in the Big House. The others were all at the big feast going on right now to celebrate the heroes' return and the completion of the quest.

Mr. D was furious, while Chiron had a look of fatherly disappointment in his face.

"I'm just trying to understand, (Y/N)," Chiron said softly. Somehow, him not yelling made it even worse. "Do you know how much you endangered the lives of your companions?"

"I know. I felt guilty so much during that quest, and I nearly died numerous times," I answered. "That's why I wanted to be left behind in the Underworld. If someone was going to get punished, it should've been me."

Mr. D gulped down the rest of his Coca Cola. He threw the can at the wall and glared down at me.

"But you didn't get punished, so now here you are. I'm going to make you wish you stayed in the Underworld..."

Chiron held out his hand in a calming manner. "Now, now, Mr. D, I think that's going to do us no favors. After all, the quest did succeed, and no one died."

"Still, he put the entire quest at risk by sneaking on it!" Mr. D protested.

"And that's why he's going to get punished," Chiron replied.

I felt my heart beat faster. I dreaded this for the entire journey back to camp.

Chiron stared at me. "No dessert for the rest of the summer."

"Eh?" I couldn't help but blurt that out.

Mr. D looked shocked too. "What?! Are you kidding me?!"

"Calm down, Mr. D. It's true that he snuck on Argus's automobile, but I also talked to the other three as well. They all said that they wanted and were happy that (Y/N) was there with them. Percy even said that he would take the punishment as team leader."

"Well, punish him too, damn it! But taking away dessert is not enough!"

Chiron turned to look at Mr. D. "But the quest didn't fail. The Master Bolt is safely back in Zeus's possession, and no one perished. Why would we punish him for something that didn't happen?"

"But—! You can't just—!" Mr. D sputtered out. "That doesn't make logical sense!"

"And I suppose you gods always make logical decisions? You aren't hypocrites sometimes?" Chiron raised an eyebrow.

Mr. D's face went red. He stormed out of the Big House.

"You're lucky Chiron's here, Mr. (L/N)! If it was just me, you'd be in deep shit!"

I looked up at Chiron. "Sir, I...I don't know what to say."

"That was a risky move you did, (Y/N), but I suppose it's all right since your friends wanted you to be there. They all expressed remorse when they learned that you would be punished."

"Y-Yes, sir. I'm sorry about all this, sir." I bowed my head.

"Just...Just next time, please tell us that you're going instead of sneaking aboard. That's really the whole reason you're being punished. I would've let you go if you were really insistent on joining."
