Beads of cold sweat and the feeling of bile rising up in his throat. The numbing chill never left Taehyun's body as he paced back and forth in front of the principal's office.
The mix of negative emotions swirling inside of him, his forehead muscles feeling tired from being creased for a good 15 minutes as he waited for Beomgyu and the counselor to appear from the guidance office just a few doors away.
Beomgyu was with the superior after being caught by him and left Taehyun confused as to why he wasn't dragged into the office with them.
He felt his heart racing like he just ran 10 kilometers for half an hour, wondering what kind of bullshit Beomgyu is probably spouting right now just to shift all the blame to him.
That damn trickster!
At long last, after the nerve wracking 15 minutes and so that felt like a whole hour for Taehyun, the counselor and the boy that lost his trust came out of the room as they walked towards his direction.
Taehyun's thin thread of patience being challenged by a provoking smirk from Beomgyu. If the counselor wasn't there, he might have probably strangled the older by now.
As the gap between them got smaller, Beomgyu made eye contact with him and smiled in a sickly sweet manner that made him cocked his eyebrows.
Is he mocking me?
While he can still taste the bitterness tinged in his mouth with a little extra spice, Taehyun was suddenly left stunned for a moment as he tried to read the boy's lips that were moving as if he was trying to say something to him.
I?-- O?-- A?-- I?-- What??
"Hey brat, stop glaring at him and just go inside the office." The counselor cut them off. The older shrugged and replied in a squeaky voice while he rolled his eyes, showing off his attitude "Alright, alright."
The boy went inside the principal's office leaving Taehyun visibly quivering from the uneasiness. He suddenly flinched from the weight of the man's hand that rested on his shoulder as he spoke again.
"Beomgyu told me everything."
Freeze.
His body froze from the man's statement.
Shit shit shit! What the hell did he say? Did he really put all the blame on me? Fuck! Whether he told the truth or not, I'm still doomed!
Swallowing the thing that is stuck on his throat hoping his shaky voice won't be too obvious, the boy tried speaking, "M-Mr. Oh--"
"You don't have to worry. He can't hurt you and your friend anymore."
Huh?
Rather than feeling lighter like a boulder had been lifted off of his shoulder, another rock fell on his grasp adding to its weight as he struggled to comprehend what the counselor had just said.
"That kid. I really don't know how to fix him! I never imagined he could be this worse to the point that he'll blackmail his innocent classmate just to cover up all his wrong doings!" Shouting in whispers, the counselor bursted out his frustrations.
Hurt me? My friend? Blackmail? What? Baffling and confusing, Taehyun's face speaks for his current emotion. Full grimace formed and eyes filled with questions.
"Sir?" The only word that came out of his mouth. He wanted to ask. He wanted more context but the perplexing situation left him astound and speechless.
A knocking sound from the other side of the door was heard yet it didn't stop him from trying to organize his messy thoughts.
