They spent their remaining free hours in the arcade where they almost used all of the machines and their allowance for next week. They also took 4-cut photos before they left the place 20 minutes early to arrive on time at the competition venue.
The boys were walking towards the bus stop as Kai slowed down his pacing to match Taehyun's, surprisingly having Beomgyu with the hyungs rather than his side. What is it this time? Taehyun tried his hardest not to shoot a glare at the younger, doing his best to ignore the annoying smile on the latter's face.
They walked in silence for a minute, the Chois filling the air with loud chatters and banters, until Kai had opened his mouth that made Taehyun roll his eyes.
"You've been staring a lot."
"You are staring."
"Yes I am and you are too. You were staring at Beomgyu-hyung."
Taehyun took a deep breath, putting his hands inside of the pockets of his coat to prevent himself from grabbing the taller boy and wrestling him in the middle of the street. "Kai, I wasn't staring." He sternly said.
He heard the younger softly clicking his tongue, lacking any annoyance from it, "You know, only those who can actually see you can tell you if you really do or not because one, you're probably not conscious of what you're doing, and two, you are probably just denying it to avoid embarrassment."
Taehyun met Kai's crescent-formed stare and scoffed at the teasing smile he was wearing. He rolled his eyes for the nth time and looked ahead of the road instead.
"I might just be in daze or whatever, I wasn't staring at him."
"Uh-huh, keep talking."
An exasperated sigh left his lips as he tilted his head upwards. He badly needs the fresh air to hit him hard enough just so he will not hit the latter instead.
"How could you even say that?"
"Because I saw you and I can see you. You think I wouldn't notice you were staring at him earlier when you were playing at the claw machines? Or whenever Beomgyu-hyung scores in air hockey? Or even just on a daily basis when he dozed off during our study session?"
"Don't tell me you've been acting weird because you were observing." Taehyun slumps his face on his palms, rubbing it harshly on his skin as he feels it burning his cheeks.
"Uh-huh. You weren't even subtle so don't blame me." With a smug reply, Kai looked at him as if he just discovered something amazing that he wanted to flex.
Taehyun groaned and spoke again with a muffled reply, "Kai, what do you want from me?"
"Nothing. I'm just saying what I saw and what I'm seeing. I mean, I can't really blame you, Beomgyu-hyung is pretty."
Taehyun felt something inside him heating up, making his ears flush. Kai didn't lie, Beomgyu surely is a beauty. His hazel brown eyes that speak thousands of words could easily confirm that. He has natural brunette hair that he sadly needed to dye black just so he could at the very least follow one school rule because the faculty unsurprisingly didn't believe him when he said his brown hair is natural. He has the prettiest curve of cupid's bow that accentuates his pouty rosy lips. He also has a tall button nose that completes his animation-like vibe of face plus his sharp features making him more unreal.
But none of these will he vocalize. Beomgyu is just less than 10 feet apart from him and the mere thought of the older hearing him say any of these is just embarrassing. Taehyun pursed his lips and bit the inside of his cheeks, trying to prevent himself from thinking furthermore of Beomgyu's very obvious but unsaid beauty.
