And the little devil whispers

Days of no Taehyun in their break times became frequent as his tutoring session with Ahyoung ate most of his time up. And as the number of sessions gradually increased from break times to lunch times, the other four had been a bit glum from the lack of the younger boy's presence and the bickering from their resident blue orangeade, Taehyun and Beomgyu.

It seems like Ahyoung's difficulty with their Literature subject was a real deal that Taehyun had to look for some references in the school library that could help the girl understand more, and so, the boys' lunch time had to be spent without Taehyun's presence mostly.

At first, they were fine and Beomgyu was fortunately hanging in there all by himself with a slight help from Hyuka. He didn't mind– well, maybe slightly, but he and the others aren't mad at Ahyoung at all. It just happened that Literature was a lot more difficult to understand than Math and Science for the girl.

Until Ahyoung took the opportunity to approach him when they coincidentally became partners in their home economics activity.

"Beomgyu-ah."

Ahyoung called Beomgyu's name as she sewed their half-finished canvas bag while Beomgyu stirred the paint to create another shade of green on the palette to decorate the bag with an acrylic paint.

"Yeah?"

He replies sparingly without averting his gaze to the paint as he focuses to create the shade he was trying to get with a pout on his lips.

"Do you know what kind of food Taehyun likes?"

Perplexing. Such a random question on a random day. Asking about Taehyun all of a sudden? Beomgyu cocked his brows as he stopped mixing the paints. A short silence was there until he questioned the girl.

"Why?"

Ahyoung shrugged as her cheeks flushed with a bright shade of red. Beomgyu finally looked at the girl as their eyes met and she covered her face with the canvas bag she was working on. Beomgyu squinted his eyes with a hint of playfulness.

"Ahyoung."

"...w– what?"

"Why are you asking such a question?"

Few moments of them just trying to win the staring game, the girl grunted and put down the canvas bag and sat on the floor as she scooted closer to Beomgyu. She tried to whisper in a shout as if she didn't want anyone eavesdropping on their conversation. Not like the others would notice though, they were all preoccupied by their own tasks on making their canvas bags pretty and actually durable to use.

"Just tell me what he likes! You're his bestie now, right? Come on, what's his favorite food? Does he eat spicy foods? Does he like to eat braised pork? Or is he a soup person? Snack person? Which is?"

Beomgyu's stare started to slowly turn condescending as if he's judging Ahyoung's whole personality but the girl brushed it off, her eyes still widened from curiosity. She just needs the deets and she doesn't care how Beomgyu sees her right now.

"He likes many things. He's not a picky eater but he likes seafood the most. And garlic."

Despite the suspicion, Beomgyu answered. His mind couldn't also help but replay the day where they started a debate about seafood since Beomgyu hates it. He hates the fishy smell and taste of it while Taehyun defends the food like his life depended on it, telling Beomgyu nutritional facts about seafood that he barely cared to know and how versatile it is as a dish since there are many different kinds of sea meat you can eat.

A slight smile unconsciously appeared on his face while he remembered the scrunching eyebrows and pouting lips Taehyun made when they were debating about it, forgetting that Ahyoung was still there beside him, chanting a small "yes!" under her breath.
