Beomgyu absolutely regrets his decisions. He should have just thrown his ego and pride aside and agreed that he was dumb and average. Top 5 in class can be a miracle but top 20 overall is just impossible.
If only he had been a bit more tolerant that day, maybe he is not sacrificing his life and his sleep that he values and loves more than anything else.
Why did he even let his impulsiveness appear at the wrong time? Now he couldn't back out and say no anymore. Not when Taehyun himself is helping him out and everyone is cheering for him.
He doesn't even know if he should feel delighted from the support he was receiving from his friends or be pissed that he was doing something he doesn't even wanna do. It was a trap that Taehyun set and he fell into it. It wasn't his fault, is what a part of him wants to believe although clearly it was his.
He should have just offered a simpler task like dragging Taehyun out and helping him escape from his house unnoticed but sometimes his pea-sized brain, as he may call it, just doesn't work when it's needed.
And now he is currently stuck at Hyuka's room, receiving a long lecture in physics for their science subject with Kai while the two seniors are having their minds burst from trying to understand general mathematics.
Beomgyu can definitely hear Taehyun spouting things about electromagnetic fields and he honestly doesn't give a zero care about those so the younger's voice seems to be hazy in his mind. He can feel the words coming in from his right ear then coming out to his left. Beomgyu can almost hear Soobin's annoyed mutters more clearly about using a calculator rather than solving problems he wouldn't even use in his daily life.
And that's when he knew, his brain was shutting off, he was taking too much information and even if he tries, he just can't follow anymore. Believe it or not, Beomgyu was listening attentively for the first 2 hours but after that, all the knowledge being stored in his head was starting to spill off of him.
It's no use trying so he just had to voice out his struggles rather than wasting the younger's time teaching him then at the end of the day, he learned nothing.
Beomgyu released a groan and let his head slam on the coffee table in front of him. "Taehyun, I'm sorry but I can't listen to you anymore. One more word and my head is gonna split in four."
Not a single movement was made in the room as all of the attention that was once on their notes and books, quickly diverted to him.
Few seconds of silence had passed, Yeonjun finally broke the stillness, "maybe we should take a break. We've been torturing ourselves that we might have also forgot to breathe."
A small groan from Kai as he stretched his body and laid on the floor to straighten his back and legs that had been cramping from the past hours. "Yeah, just a few minutes. My head and my body is having a race of which one of them would give out first."
"I can't really see the reason why we need to learn this. Why would you learn math when you have a calculator?" Soobin finally protested his all-time concern while he also rested his body down on the floor, sprawling like a starfish.
"Take a break too Hyun, it won't kill you, I promise." Beomgyu spoke to Taehyun in his half joking manner when the older guessed he had no plan on letting go of the pen he was holding as he took down notes while he was helping the two out. Taehyun could only roll his eyes half heartedly as well.
Outnumbered by mentally exhausted people, Taehyun opted to agree on taking a break as well, seeing his friends slash classmates slash students breaking their own skull, trying to comprehend every word he says as he teaches.
