"It's not working Beomgyu."
"It's really not gonna work if you keep talking. Just keep trying."
"I've been picking this lock for 5 minutes and it's not working!"
Just like what Beomgyu said, the next day, he made Taehyun pick the door lock. The boys have been standing in front of the door for a solid 5 minutes but the inexperienced Taehyun can't seem to open it despite Beomgyu teaching him how to.
Retaliating, Taehyun can't help but shout in a whisper as he doesn't want to get caught. He just wants to chill on the rooftop, can Beomgyu just open it for them?
A sigh escaped from the older's lips as he rubbed his temple, sick of Taehyun's complaints. "Calm down first alright. You really won't be able to open it with your trembling hands. The longer we stand here, the higher the chance we get caught so concentrate!"
Just wanting to get over it, Taehyun released a groan as his hands didn't stop trying to open the door lock. A bit of concentration, ignoring the anxiousness that's been staying in his chest rent free, he finally heard a click and his eyes brightened from the small achievement.
"I did it! I did it!" He cheers after releasing a small gasp while jumping in tiny.
The way the younger cheers and how his hair bounces with him made Beomgyu internally coo from how adorable Taehyun acted.
Taehyun immediately opened the door as he didn't want to stay on that spot where they could get caught.
As soon as he stepped foot on the rooftop, he closed his eyes and savoured the fresh air, a small smile tugging his lips.
This is what he needed, a small break again from the stressful environment below the floor he was standing on. He internally thanked Beomgyu for bringing him there yesterday, he now treats the rooftop like a forbidden treasure.
He wished Kai came to school today though, a small mischief won't hurt them both, right? Besides, Beomgyu is there to back them up.
After Beomgyu locked the door, they went to the same spot they once were the first time they came to the rooftop, sitting in the shade as their minds slowly found peace.
"Beomgyu, when did you start coming here?" The younger broke the short stillness, curious about how Beomgyu managed to think about coming to this forbidden floor.
The older placed his fingers to his chin, trying to recall the first time he went there. "Hmmm... I think it was in my 1st year of junior high? I was curious about what the rooftop would look like so I just kinda sneaked in?"
"So you did that out of curiosity?" Wide and curious eyes, Taehyun was left in disbelief, unable to comprehend how the 13-year old Beomgyu actually thought of something so troublesome.
The older simply nodded and said, "yeah."
"You risked getting caught just because you were curious?" Still sounded baffled by the older's recklessness.
"Well, not entirely from my curiosity. As far as I can remember, I wasn't entirely feeling well at that time so I thought of doing something rash and fun so I could get things off my mind."
"Wow. You... are an idiot."
"Pfft. Just because you don't do the things I do doesn't mean its idiotic."
"But it is, though. You were a first year middle schooler."
"And I think beating yourself up as early in the age of 12 with academics is idiotic for me."
A bit offended, Taehyun cocked his eyebrows as both boys playfully glared at each other.
"Now you get me?" Beomgyu added with a small smirk on his face.
