Chapter Two: Carter’s P.O.V-
The next morning I opened my eyes ever so slightly and saw sun shining through my window. I sat up in bed and ran a hand through my messy hair. I peeled back my blankets and went to the kitchen. I looked up and saw Kaylynn sitting on my counter.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
“I needed to help you pick an outfit for today.” She shrugged jumping from the counter.
She was wearing a lavender dress, denim jacket, and knee high combat boots.
“Cute,” I said, pouring some Lucky Charms into my bowl.
“Thanks,” she smiled, doing a small twirl.
“So what do you think I should wear?” I pushed myself up onto the counter.
“I don’t know I haven’t raided your closet in five months.” She laughed.
Our world had come to a halt when the loves of our lives left. We stopped our daily shopping trips; we weren’t getting manicures and pedicures every other week… Needless to say we were a spa appointment waiting to happen. Just thinking about that fact kind of made me feel unready to see my Ross again. I pushed myself off the counter and placed my bowl in the sink.
“Come on,” I said, dragging Kaylynn by the arm “You have about two hours to make me look fabulous.”
“Yay! Just like old times!” she squeaked.
We walked into my room and went straight for the closet. As we scanned the racks of clothing in my closet we had mindless chit- chat about the Lynches coming back. Every so often she would pull and outfit off the racks and hold it up in front of me; trying to see if it was what we were looking for.
“Ok, our closets need CPR! I think they are dying WITHOUT having at least one new thing!” Kaylynn observed.
“You’re totally right,” I said, holding up an ugly blue dress in front of me “I don’t even know why I bought this!”
“Bought what?” she turned around “WHOA! That’s… Original…?” she commented.
“More like fashion NIGHTMARE!” I said.
“Shopping spree- You, me, Cam, Del- THIS WEEKEND!” She grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me.
“I hear you loud and clear.” I nodded in agreement.
We kept looking, trying to find the perfect outfit. I pulled out a white crop top with red roses, mint green paint splatters, and a studded heart on it just as Kay pulled out my Abercrombie & Fitch Olivia Jacket.
“So we can pair this under this,” Kaylynn was thinking out loud.
“Then we can put both of those with these.” I said, holding up my mint green skinny jeans and my flat, tan, knee high, leather boots.
“And we can accessorize with this and this,” she said taking hold of my Union Jack charm bracelet and tan leather backpack.
“Perfect!” we squeaked looking at each other.
“Change quickly,” she said looking at her watch “We still have to do your hair and makeup.”
“Alright,” I pushed her out of my closet “You get it all ready and I’ll be out in a minute.”
I closed the door and changed out of my pajamas and into my regular clothes. When I was done I walked out of my closet and dropped my jacket, backpack, and boots onto my bed.
