Chapter Twelve: Ross’s P.O.V-
Carter and I snuggled and watched all the movies she’d picked. I knew that they were all bound to be chick flicks but I didn’t care because I liked watching them just as much as she did. Carter rested her head on my chest and I rested my head on top of hers. We had finished watching Waiting For Forever, When In Rome, and Like Crazy by the time we had to get ready to go. We could have watched You Again but we wanted an excuse to come home early other than the fact that we didn’t want to be there in the first place. I let Carter change in my bedroom and I changed in the bathroom. I put on a blue linen button down shirt, dark wash jeans, and black leather sneakers.
When I was done getting changed I went back across the hall and knocked on my door.
“You dressed, babe?” I asked, standing outside my room.
“Yep,” Carter said.
I twisted the knob and walked in. Carter was putting her hair in a ponytail. I took in the way she looked by letting my gaze wander all over. As always she looked beautiful but her outfit just added a distinct sass to her. Her eyes met up with mine when she was done with her hair.
“You look gorgeous,” I smiled.
“Thanks,” She sighed.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“I’m just having total second thoughts about going, but I can’t let Riker and Ryland down.” She rubbed her arm nervously.
“You’ve been doing that since we first met.” I put my hands on her shoulders and slid them down to elbows.
“What?” Her forehead creased slightly as she tilted her head to the side.
“Rubbing your arm,” I smiled.
“We weren’t talking about my nervous habits; we were talking about why I don’t want to go… but why I have to.” She bit he lip.
“You don’t have to go,” I said, again.
“Yeah, I do,” She sighed and turned her back to me.
“Then let’s stick with the original plan. As soon as we see them hitting it off we grab food to go and come back here and cuddle.” I wrapped her up in my arms.
“Good idea,” She said, closing her eyes and resting her head back on me “I especially like the last part.”
“Me too,” I whispered.
I sat down in my desk chair and pulled Carter down onto my lap. She grinned at me and ran her hand through my hair. She searched my eyes for a moment and then lightly kissed me.
“Mmm, I like that,” I laughed, hugging her closer.
Carter giggled. I turned my chair toward my desk and logged onto my lap top to check on the mentions on twitter. Everybody was talking about the photos of us at the party last night. They said things like ‘I love you guys! Best couple EVER! #MoreRoter’ and ‘you guys need to post pics more often #MoreRoter #RoterForever’.
“These are so sweet!” Carter said “I actually think #MoreRoter is trending worldwide. Look, there’s one from your grandpa.”
“Where?” I asked.
“Right in front of your face,” She said “It says, ‘My handsome grandson and his beautiful girlfriend. By the way when’s the wedding? #WHIBTM? #NoOne’
“My family’s going to absolutely LOVE you! Especially Mamoo! Really the only girls she gets to hang out over Christmas with are Rydel, Mom, and Beauty. Now she’ll have you too; one of her future granddaughters-in-law.” I kissed Carter’s cheek.
