Chapter TwentyThree: Carter's P.O.V-

The next morning when i woke up I felt that something in the world had shifted. Ross was still asleep next to me so it couldn't have anything to do with him. I sat up in my bed and looked at the beautiful, shirtless body lying next to me. I ran my hand throung his hair and kissed his cheek. I hopped out of bed and went to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror. Maybe there was something wrong with me. I sighed and put my hair into a messy braid. After that I put on a red and white baseball shirt, jeans, and tan knee high boots. I put on minimal make up and went back into the room. Ross was layng on his back sleep so to wake him up I jumped on top of him. I lay on his chest and lifted my feet in the air.

"Good morning, my handsome prince." I smiled as I mused my fingers through his hair.

"Morning, princess," Ross sighed and rubbed my back.

"You need to get dressed for the day. I have no clue what's on the agenda, but you wouldn't want to be late." I searched his eyes.

"I guess not," he sighed and held my hips "Ya know, I haven't REALLY kissed you in a while."

"Like I hadn't noticed?" I shook my head and planted my lips on his.

My hands were on his ears as I kissed him deeply. I could feel his smile against my lips as his hand held the back of my head.

"Alright, I'm going down stairs to see what's going on and you should get changed." I pecked his lips one last time and ran out of the room.

I was skipping down the stairs in a happy manner when I saw Rosebud on the couch with a crying girl. I sat down on the other side of Rose. I immediately recognized the crying girl as Jennifer. As much as I didn't like Jennifer (and Jennifer didn't like me) I didn't want her to cry. I would have asked her what was wrong in any normal situation, but since we hand a, obvious, mutual detest for one another I decided to get the inside scoop from Rosebud.

"Rosebud, could I talk to you for a second?" I asked.

"Sure," she nodded "Jen, I'll be right back."

I got up and walked into the kitchen.

"What's up with Jennifer?" I asked, looking over Rosebud's head at her.

"If I remember correctly, because there's A LOT to catch here, her mother's anunt's best friend's ex- husband's new neighbor's daughter's father passed away." Rosebud shrugged.

"How exactly did the news travel back to Jen?" I asked.

"When there's a huge grapevine like that, word spreads like a wildfire!" She said.

 "Huh, intersesting," I said.

I got what she was going through. I've been there: maybe in a more... direct hit, but I still understood.

 "I think I can help." I patted Rosebud's arm.

We walked back over to Jennifer. I sat on one side of her and Rose sat on the other.

"Hey Jennifer," I said in a nonthreatening tone "Rose told me all about it and I'm so sorry."

"No you're not!" she replied to me.

"I really am," I said honestly.

"You've got everything!" she spat "The guy I've wanted since I was nine, an amazing life and I... I have nothing and I keep losing stuff."

This was ridiculous! She actually thought she lost something?! One other thing about that sentence stuck out to me.

"Wait if you've wanted Ross since you were nine, exactly how old does that make you now?" I asked.

 "I'm fourteen," she said.

I just nodded. She really thought she had a chance with my sixteen, almost seventeen, year old boyfriend?! This was crazy!

"You know what I don't expect you to understand this because you don't know a thing about real loss!" she snapped.

OUCH! No matter how PSYCHO the person who was telling me this was (and probably sitll is) doesn't mean it didn't hurt any less. I looked down at my feet then looked up at the top of the stairs where everybody had congregated. Ross was among the people gathered there. I couldn't look at him. I looked a little farther down and into the eyes of Papa. He nodded as if reading my mind and knowing that I wanted to borrow the truck. I took my laptop bag from next to the couch and grabbed my coat and hat. I ran out the door, fleeing into a place of safety. The truck.

Rydel's P.O.V-

I looked next to me and saw Ross standing there. I couldn't help myself; I ran down the stairs and pulled Jennifer off the couch.

"You don't know ANYTHING about her! How DARE you just go around assuming that she doesn't know anything about what you're going through, not that what you're going through is a direct hit like hers." I started.

 Ross joined in with me.

"Her mom DIED when she was six years old! She had to go through EVERY life experience without her mom and here you are! Going on about the death of a guy you've never even met! Carter loved her mom and she only got to spend six years of her life with her. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF!" Ross was angry, and if you couldn't tell that you were definitely blind.

Ross's phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and looked at the screen. I watched as he stormed out of the house, took his snow board that was leaning against the house, and went down the mountain.

"Do you see what you've done?!" I yelled at her "As far as I'm concerned, you're no longer welcomed here." I ran up the stairs to my room and closed the door.

This has gotten to be conplete madness.

Oh the drama! Is anybody else excited that Jennifer has been banned from the Lynch family cabin? I know I am and I CREATED her! Well I hope everybody enjoyed this chapter! Vote, Comment, Share with your friends!
