Chapter TwentyEight: Carter's P.O.V-
The next few days were filled with Christmas prep and present wrapping. The day after the party, which would have been Monday, was the day we planned what we were eating for Christmas dinner. Tuesday, we all pretty much left each other alone to wrap presents and take presents to the post office and send them next day mail. Wednesday the photo taking began. Apparently every Christmas they took new family photo's and this year I was apart of it.
That morning I woke up to hear loads of movement down stairs. I went down and saw everybody hustling about.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Picture day," Rocky said.
"Nobody told me about this." I said.
"You should go get changed." Rydel said.
"Ok," I went back up into my room.
I walked to the closet looking through all the clothes I had brought with me. I was trying to find the perfect thing that screamed Christmas... but not too loudly. I settled on my black sweater that had a few stripes of red going through the middle, black, leather mini skirt, tights with small hearts on them, and red, heeled cowgirl boots. I did my hair half up and half down and used light make up. I hadn't seen Ross all morning and that worried me because he was usually the first to say good morning to me. After I had changed I went down stairs to see where he was.
I looked in the kitchen, but he wasn't there. I looked in Ryland's room, but he wasn't there, I even looked at the hockey rink where I got whistled at and hit on.
"Ya wanna hang out with us, babe?" one of the dudes asked.
I rolled my eyes and turned to walk away.
"Or you could just walk away from us... we like that too." someone said behind me.
I finally made it back to the cabin where I found Ross laying on the couch eating a banana.
"I've been looking for you everywhere!" I said "Where have you been?"
"Mamoo had me doing a lot of stuff this morning." Ross said "Ya know to get ready for the photo shoot, which I assume that's what you are dressed for because if you're not is it part of my Christmas present?"
"Very funny, Lynch," I said, cuddling up to him on the couch "I got hit on and whistled at while I was looking for you so you should just hug me and stop being... whatever you're being."
"Who hit on and whistled at you?" he said, wrapping his arms around me and making me feel safe again.
"Some guys down at the rink." I said, laying my head on his chest.
"Ugh! Dudes that play hockey are terrible like that." He rubbed my arm up and down and squished me to him.
"Hate to break it to you honey but you play hockey." I smiled.
"I know but I'm allowed to make comments like that to you because you're my girlfriend and it's my civil right." Ross's hand traveled down to the top of my skirt.
"Oooh, leather; my favorite fabric."
"I'm not sure it's a fabric or not." I said.
"Well for today I get to be right and I say it's a fabric." he smiled.
"You told me yesterday that I was the boss." I raised an eyebrow.
"Mmm but I'm the boss today." he said.
