Chapter 7: Ross’s P.O.V-

I hated to see Carter so freaked out by the paparazzi. She shouldn’t have to live in fear, but I guessed that this was the life we both signed up for. We were driving to what she thought was the Austin & Ally set, but actually we were going to a photo shoot for Bop and Tiger Beat Magazine. They wanted me and Carter to come in and do our first photo shoot as a couple with them. I knew if I told her where we were going she would have said no and I had already told them yes so I went with the only obvious solution. Before you judge me, I already know it’s lying, and yes I know I said I’d never do it again but I had to keep my word! It’s like the golden rule… Wait… I think the golden rule is ‘never tell a lie’… DANG IT!

“Where are we going?” Carter asked “I don’t see any studios and I don’t think we’re in Hollywood either.”

“No, we’re going the right way.” I said.

“No we’re not, where are you taking me?” she folded her arms and looked over at me.

“Ok, so we aren’t going to the set today.” I sighed.

“Then where ARE we going?” she asked.

 “We’re going to a photo shoot… for a magazine.” I conceded.

Carter fidgeted in her seat a little and looked out the windshield. She was so quiet I could barely hear her breathing. I looked at the time on the dash and pulled into a vacant parking lot. I put the car in park and unstrapped Carter and myself. I put my hands under her arms and lifted her onto my lap.

“Carter,” I caressed her cheek “Could you PLEASE say something?”

 “I’m nervous,” she sighed.

“Why? You’ll be with me the whole time! I won’t let anybody hurt you.” I wrapped my arms around her.

“That’s not why I’m nervous.” she sighed.

“Then why are you nervous?” I asked.

“What if the pictures of me look bad or something?” she asked, frightened.

“Oh please the pictures are going to look awesome! You’ll be fine, babe.” I kissed her head.

“Ross,” she sighed “You aren’t going to be judged by the way you look. I am! If I don’t look good I’ll get hate for not being pretty enough for you! I know I haven’t gotten hate this far but there’s still a possibility.”

“First of all, I love it when you say my name like that and second, I won’t let you get hate! If I’ve told you once I’ve told you a MILLION times, I’ll quit Austin & Ally, I’ll walk away from the band! All I want to do is be with you!” I replied.

“Nice quote from High School Musical 3,” she giggled.

“Carter, I’m serious,” I slightly smiled.

“Fine, let’s go,” she sighed, trying to move out of my grip.

I turned her face towards mine and kissed her passionately. She put her hands on my cheeks and held my lips to hers. I pulled away and looked down at her.

“Ok,” her breathing was heavy; her cheeks pink “Now I believe you,”

“Good,” I sighed, placing her back in her seat.

“So is your mom going to be there or are we doing this thing by ourselves?” She asked.

“My mom’s doing the styling for me and you today.” I looked ahead of the road.
