Chapter Sixteen: Ross’s P.O.V-
The next couple of days went by quickly. Carter took her dog to the vet with Camila. She texted me a couple of times asking me to be ready for her to have a therapy session when she got back. I was all geared up for one big anger fest (I even boxed up the breakables) but when she got back she was all puppies and rainbows. Apparently Camila had asked for Carter’s forgiveness because she knew that she was acting really weird. She also said that she was going to do the right thing and not bail Ethan out of jail. The following day I had to go into work and I brought Carter along with me. In retrospect it wasn’t EXACLTLY the best idea, but ya live and learn.
Why was it not a good idea? Well Laura was trying to flirt with me, which made Carter upset, then Austin and Ally had to kiss in this episode and that made Carter even madder. When the kiss was over so was the episode. I looked around for C, but she was nowhere. I got nervous and called Rydel.
“Rydel, do you have Carter with you?” I asked.
“Um yeah… I came and picked her up from the studio like five minutes ago.” Rydel said.
“I thought I lost her.” I sighed in relief “You at home?”
“Yeah, we’re having a slumber party before tomorrow when we leave for Colorado. Kaylynn’s here, Camila’s here. The other boys are in the basement with dad and mom is making pizza.” She went on.
“I’m coming,” I said.
I ran outside and jumped into my car. The drive there was quiet, but I wished Carter were here to sing at the radio. Not with, AT. I pulled into the driveway and ran for the door.
“Boys are down stairs,” mom said.
“That’s great; I just want to check on Carter.” I said.
I bolted up the stairs and into Rydel’s room. I picked Carter up off the floor and took her into my room.
“What are you doing? Put me down!” she said.
I put her feet on the floor and kept my back against my closed door.
“Where were you? I was so worried about you.” I pulled her in for a hug.
“You seemed like you were fine what with Laura being all lovey dovey.” Carter pushed me away and crossed her arms.
“You know it’s just for the show!” I said.
“I know but she was flirting with you!” Carter yelled “What was I supposed to do?”
“Fight with her,” I shrugged.
“What?” Carter squinted in confusion.
“You just gave up and walked away! Didn’t you want to give her a good ole beat down?” I asked.
“Kind of…” she said.
I gave her a look.
“Ok yes, but I didn’t want to cause a scene!” she looked at me “You love me right?”
“What? Of COURSE I love you!” I hugged her “I hold no attraction for Laura.”
“I didn’t ask that, but it’s good to know.” She nuzzled my chest.
I held her close. I kissed the top of her head. She pulled her head back and kissed my lips sweet and tenderly. Her lips tasted of a different flavor. Cherry… No… Coconut… No… Chocolate… No… Strawberry… YES! Mmmm I love strawberries.
“I like the new lip gloss flavor.” I wiggled my eye brows.
“Thanks… I thought you might.” She blushed.
