Chapter Nine: Carter’s P.O.V-
After the photo shoot we went back to Ross’s house. We talked and laughed about the fun we had had at the shoot and sang off key with the radio. I’ve said this before but Ross and I are best friends. Whatever we do together is always just like hanging out and not spending time with a boyfriend or girlfriend. I had questioned if that were how it was supposed to be and found out that it was EXACTALY how it was supposed to be! My (biological) mom and dad had been best friends even before they realized they had feelings for each other. Just because that had happened for me and Ross in reverse order didn’t mean that it wasn’t ok for it to be that way. We had been driving for a few minutes when Ross suddenly slammed on the brakes. The seat belt tightened and pushed me back against the seat.
“Ow,” I squealed.
“Are you ok?” Ross asked.
“Yeah, what happened?” I asked, rubbing my collar bone.
“I almost ran a red light.” He blushed.
“That’s never happened before are you alright?” I asked, reaching my hand out to touch his arm.
“I got distracted is all,” he shrugged it off and started driving when the light was green again.
I kept an eye on him out of the corner of my eye. Making sure he was looking at the road and not texting and driving; which is a criminal offence in the state of California. He wasn’t texting! He was looking at me. I turned my head.
“Please keep your eyes on the road.” I said.
“Sorry,” Ross blushed “You just look pretty with the sunlight hitting you the way it is.”
“Thanks,” I felt a flush coming down from my hairline.
A few moments later we pulled into the driveway of Ross’s house. He took his key out of the ignition and came around to my side of the car to open the door. As always he helped me out of the car by taking both of my hands. I smiled as his lips brushed my head.
“Vous avez de très beaux yeux,” His breath brushed against my ear.
“I’d like to blush and quietly say thanks, but I have absolutely no clue, what you just said to me.” I laughed.
“I just told you that you have very beautiful eyes in French.” He brushed some of my hair behind my ear.
“Oh, thanks,” I blushed.
Ross kissed my mouth. I pulled back and smiled at him.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t my favorite celebrity power couple.” Rocky called from the front door.
“So you saw that this morning?” Ross called back not looking away from me.
“Yeah… What’s the name again? Roter?” Rocky asked with a laugh.
“I believe that’s what they’re calling us.” Ross wrapped his arm around me as we walked up to the door.
“Kaylynn and I… That would be what? Roylynn? Ew… Rocklynn… Better!” Rocky was now talking to himself.
Ross shook his head.
“This is why I spend the majority of my time at your house. Well that and the fact that you’re siblings don’t barge in on us when we kissing or talking.” He said.
“One of my siblings isn’t even born yet… How can he barge in on us?” I laughed.
“I’m just saying that Camila never bothers us.” He said.
