Chapter Elevan: Carter’s P.O.V-
I thought I was shocked to find out that Ethan was arrested, but I wasn’t as shocked as I was when Dad told me what he got arrested for.
“He was arrested for battery,” Dad said, through gritted teeth.
“WHAT?!” I asked, almost spitting out my food.
“You can’t force me to not see him anymore!” Camila yelled, jumping to her feet.
“Like heck I can!” Dad said, with wide eyes.
“THAT’S NOT FAIR!” she yelled at him “He didn’t do it!”
“EVERYONE’S GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT!” Dad got up.
“Actually, Dad, it’s everyone’s innocent until proven guilty.” I pointed out.
“Stay out of this, Carter!” they both yelled back at me.
“Ok,” I got up and went back into the kitchen.
I put my bowl of untouched food back on the counter.
“Honey, aren’t you going to eat?” Mom asked.
“Yeah, I was just wondering if this breakfast possibly came with the option of to- go.” I said, smiling shyly.
“Typically it doesn’t but since all this nonsense is going on, I’ll let it slide.” She smiled at me.
“Thank you mom,” I smiled “I’m going to grab a few things before I go to Ross’s.” I smiled.
“Ok,” she smiled.
I went into my room and took out one of my duffle bags. I searched my closet for my faux black leather bustier with a zip front and elastic back, my black skirt that had white daisies all over it, tan flip flops with yellow straps, yellow sunglasses, bow earrings, and blue bangle bracelet. Upon finding them I placed them into my bag. I grabbed my makeup bag and tossed that in my duffle too. I grabbed my white hooded robe that went down to my knees and put it on over my yellow spaghetti strap, knee length night gown. I jammed my feet into my fluffy pink slipper boots and grabbed my duffle bag.
I chose the exact worst time to walk into the room. Camila threw a vase from across the room. It smashed into the wall right next to my head. I first looked at the wall then I looked at my sister. I shook my head.
“Hey mom, do you want to hang out at Mary Beth’s place down the hall?” I asked, trying to protect my mother and unborn baby brother.
“Yes,” Mom said.
I helped her up and walked her down the hall. I knocked on Mary Beth’s door and waited. Within seconds she opened the door.
“Hey honey’s,” She smiled at us.
“Hey Mary,” I said “My dad and idiot twin sister chose now, while my mother is pregnant, to have a miniature world war three in our apartment. Do you think you can watch after her for me?”
“Who’s at the door, Beth?” Clair called.
“Carter and her mama,” Mary Beth called, back.
“I’m actually going to my boyfriend’s house so I just need you guys to watch my mom and make sure that she gets to and from places unscathed.” I said.
“Definitely,” Mary said.
“Thank you,” I smiled and sent my mom inside “Love you guys,”
“You too,” they all said.
I walked to the elevator and went through the lobby to my car. I pulled out my phone and called Ross.
