Chapter TwentySix: Carter's P.O.V-
That night I had the worst sleep I'd had in a while. I tried to sleep but I just couldn't I ended up finishing that book I was reading and starting and finishing the second book in that series. Finally around two o'clock in the morning I fell asleep. I woke up again around ten-ish. I sat up and looked around. No sign of Ross in here. I touched my feet to the ground and walked down the stairs.
"Morning sleepy head," Ross said.
I followed the sound of his voice to the kitchen.
"Morning," I itched my head.
"How did you sleep?" he asked, stirring up some eggs and putting them in a pan.
"Horribly," I groaned.
"Aw, I'm sorry," he kissed my head.
"It's alright, I got to finish a couple of books so that was good." I shrugged.
"Finish reading or finish writing?" he teased.
"I probably could've written a couple of books but I read them." I laughed "Whatcha makin?"
"Breakfast," he said.
"Ah, that's not a lot of food... is it just for you and me?" I asked.
"Everybody went out for the day." he said "It's just you and me today."
"Why? Not that I mind; I love spending alone time with you but... I don't understand." I said, with one hand I hoisted myself up onto the counter.
"They were going out to do some stuff and asked if we were tagging along and I said no because you were still asleep and I just wanted to be with you today." He took my hands in his.
"You make me blush," I smiled.
"Part of the job," he shrugged.
I laughed.
"So what are we doing today?" I asked.
"We can do whatever you want." he said.
"I want to sleep some more." I said, sarcastically.
"We can just stay in bed all day." he said, taking the eggs out of the pan and putting them on a plate.
"I like that idea." I nodded.
"Great, then it's settled," he put some food on a plate and sat it in front of me.
"Yummy," I said.
We spent the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing. We watched a couple movies on my laptop, had a dance party while we straightened up the cabin, and played hockey in our pajamas. It was an afternoon well spent. The family came back around three o'clock and announced that we were going to a Christmas party.
"Who's party?" I asked.
"Aunt Shea hosts an annual Christmas party." Ross looked over at me.
"Oh," I nodded "What do I wear?"
He looked at me and chuckled. He started walking over to the stairs.
"I'm serious, what do I wear?" I chased after him.
"I think you look great in everything you wear." he said.
"Could you at LEAST help me?" I asked.
"Sure," he said.
We entered into our room and I went for the closet. I pulled out a couple of dresses.
