ELVIN

I had just come back from a meeting with a client.

As I walked into my office, My eyes landed on Ari sitting on the floor wide-eyed as some documents covered in coffee were placed on the floor while peices of a broken cup layed beside them

"What the hell!?" I yelled as I picked up the documents from the floor "What's wrong with you? Do you have any idea how important these are!?"

"I'm so sorry, Eli, i-"

I got up and sighed in frustration "Just get up and get out, okay?"

"Okay, just let me clean up the glass-" She got up as well

"Just shut up!..for once, shut up. You've done nothing but annoy me since you started working here. You just...need to do me a favour and need to get something right. Can you do that and just get the hell out of my sight!?"

She looked down one last time at the mess she had made and made her way towards the exit.

As she grabbed the door handle, she whispered under her breathe but I heard it

"I'm sorry, Elvin."

She took a deep breath in and left.

I looked down at the documents in my hand as I remembered something...

I had already made copies.

Oh shit.

ARYA

I wiped my tears with the back of my hand as I looked in the mirror that was in my office.

"It's okay." I whispered "It was a mistake, It could have happened to anyone. You're not useless. It's fine."

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in and a deep breath out. I opened them and smiled.

"I still need to clean the glass. C'mon, Ari! You can do this!"

I picked up some cleaning...thingies from the storage room and went towards Eli's office.

Just as I was about to knock on the door, I heard a gasp. Without any warning, out of curiosity, I opened the door.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry Mr. Emaldi!" A employee gasped

My eyes landed on the same documents that I spilled coffee on being spilled coffee on for a second time. This time, for sure ruining them fully.

My eyes widened as I thought about how he scolded me and I was about to go there to calm him down a little but before I could, he sighed and said

"It's okay. I have copies. Don't do that again, though. You can leave. I'll just throw these away."

"O- Okay. Excuse me." She left, leaving me standing there dumbfounded

I cleared my throat and just went inside as I crouched down, trying to clean the glass up. I felt his eyes looking at me.

"What are you doing?" He asked

I took a moment, smiled and looked back at my boss "Just cleaning it up."

"I told you to leave it alone." He said nonchalantly and looked back at computer

"It's my job, so I had-" Before I could complete my sentence, I let out a yelp, and as I looked back at my hand, I found out that the glass had accidentally left a big cut on my finger.

I got up.

"Geez, I told you to leave it alone! The cleaning lady would have done it anyway! You're unbelievable, White."

I scoffed "You're the one being unbelievable. If you already had copies, you didn't need to yell at me that way." I said and just left his office.

I stood outside his office door and looked at my cut finger...It was already time to go home, anyway. I didn't need to stay any longer.

:AUTHOR'S POV:

The same night

Elvin heard the doorbell ring

"Coming." He shouted.

The person behind the door kept ringing the doorbell, making Elvin frustrated

"I said I was comi-" As soon as he opened the door, He saw Ari swaying around, he could tell she was drunk by the smell. "Ari? What are you doing here?" He questioned

"Why are...." She mumbled, making it impossible for Elvin to hear what she was saying.

He took a hold of her wrist in an attempt to stop her from falling down. He was surprised when she used force to get out of his grip, he let her wrist go

"Why are you only mean to me?" She repeated what she had mumbled, this time loud and clear

"What?" He was flustered by this question

"Why are you only mean to me!? You're so nice to others...you're so kind to them...Why me? Why only me?" She yelled at him, now tearing up

"You don't know what you're talking about. Let's just go inside." He ignored her questions, pulling her in and making her sit on the couch

"Why me...why me..." She kept mumbling these words.

He came back with a pillow and blanket, putting it down on the couch "Sleep here tonight. I'll drop you off in the morning." He said with no emotion in his voice, he started to leave.

Until he felt a tug on his sleeve. He looked at her, now worried.

He sighed "Yes, white?" He asked in a soft voice and crouched down to meet her eye level

"You're always mean to me. I want to be mean to you, just this once." Ari said in a serious tone

"I don't know what you're talking ab-"

He was interrupted by Ari pressing her lips on his. He was shocked, he looked at her with wide eyes. She pulled away, Laying down on the sofa like nothing had just happened. He was sitting there wide eyed until he came to his senses. He sighed and pulled the blanket over her.

She was still repeating the question 'Why me?' in a soft voice. He looked at her and said

"Because I'm scared."
