ELVIN
The next morning
On the phone
Hello? Why are you calling me, Emaldi?
I'll text you my address. Come and pick up Ari. I was going to drop her off but an urgent meeting just came up.
What the hell is Ari doing at your house!?
*Sigh* She got drunk and came here by herself. I didn't do anything to her so don't worry.
She spent the night there? What the hell?
Yeah...on the couch. *Sigh* Can you just come here already? I'm going to be late. Geez.
Oh fuck you, Emaldi.
Beep
Beep
BeepI stuffed my phone in my pocket and looked at Ari who was still sleeping.
As I looked at her face, I noticed her furrowing her eyebrows. I chuckled and crouched down beside her.
I tilted my head, looking at the girl who makes me scared, who makes me feel weird, who I don't deserve, who makes me...smile.
"Staring's not polite, boss." She whispered "Just like how you're not polite to me." Opening her eyes, she put her finger forward
I sighed and touched my own finger with hers
"I...apologise for being rude, Miss White."
She smiled
"It's okay, Mister Emaldi." She responded
"Have I seen you before?" I asked without thinking
"Yeah, you see me at work everyday." She chuckled in confusion
"No..before that."
"Before that..? Nope! I don't recall us meeting before that."
Before I could respond, the doorbell rang.
I opened the door to a very worried looking Valerie.
"Where is she?"
"Val! You're here!" Ari yelled from behind
Valerie sighed and walked right past me to see her friend.
"Why would you come here? When you're that drunk?" I overheard their conversation "You know what? Let's just leave. We can have this discussion later."
Valerie grabbed Ari's hand and dragged her out.
VALERIE
I opened the door to her house and went inside as she came in after me
"Val..? Are you okay?"
