| CHAPTER 15 - LUXCIAN's P.O.V.

My heart almost skipped a beat as I caught a sight of my dad's baseball bat that was about to hit my legs again. I was waiting for it to strike me once again, but even after it did, I kept feeling paralyzed. It aches, and I felt like I was ready to lose control because my legs were both numb from being smacked a while ago. But beads of sweat started to form on my forehead as I stared at Calleb who was hit by the bat. Anger slowly fills my system as thing fully registered on me.

He protected me from Dad.

My lips parted as I saw an ounce of pain flashing in his eyes, but after a minute, his eyes shifted with wrath. Alam kong kung hindi napuruhan si Calleb ay paniguradong nilumpo na niya si Dad. Walang habas niyang pagbabayarin pabalik.

He blankly stared at him, pakiwari'y nagpipigil na tuluyang sumabog sa harapan namin. I then gritted my teeth 'cause I'm a caitiff. I can't talk back to my parents. I'm scared that my words might sting and it might hurt my Mom and ruin everything I did just to be noticed by them.

Mula pagkabata ko ay nagsumikap ako. Palagi kong ipinapakita na hindi lang ako basta magaling, kun'di talagang kahanga-hanga nilang anak. Ngunit ilang taon ko na ba iyong ginagawa? Ilang taon ko ba iyon pilit pinag sumikapan? Ilang beses ko nga bang ipinilit sa kanila ang pagkatao ko? 

Kung lalaban ako ay babalik ako sa lusak.

Babalik ako sa panlilimos nang sobra-sobra. Kaya kung karuwagan ang pananahimik ko, mas pipiliin ko na lang ito. I'm too tired to start over again just to gain a little attention. Mom is talking to me even a little and that's enough for me. Should I trade what I earned for years just to exculpate myself and justify my impulsive action?

Both of my hands trembled so badly and all I can do is nothing but to close my fist until it turns white because of how tight the grip is. "C-Calleb!" Dad stuttered as he realized that it was Calleb and not me. Humarang siya kaya siya ang tinamaan. Humarang siya kaya siya ang nasaktan. Siya mismo ang naging pananggalang ko dahil hindi ako nanlaban. 

The metal bat fell from his hand and his knees trembled as GK entered the scene with the entire troop. He immediately walked towards Calleb, who was restraining the pain in his knees. Wala naman siyang ibang ginawa at tinitigan si Calleb, wari ay pino-proseso ang nangyayari.

Ganyan naman siya, nag-iisip bago kumilos. Hindi kagaya ko na naging padalos-dalos, ngayon tuloy ay ito ang kinahinatnan ng naging desisyon ko. Kinahinatnan ng mga ginawa ko. Sila.

Ang gulong ito... pati sila ay nadamay.

"Did you know that you could be punished by the law by abusing Luxcian?" Yessue was standing behind him.

"I filmed everything. It could be a scoop for my publishing firm. Scoop that will definitely ruin everything you have: the name, the fame, and power," Caevan added as he stepped forward with wrath in his eyes.

"A--and I'm a fucking Captain on my team..." Calleb couldn't compose a clear statement as pain constantly spread in his system. "I can put you behind bars or worse, I'll let you taste your own fucking medicine." He clenched his fist when he finally stood up straight, but I could still see the pain in his eyes. Kahit na blangko lang ito para sa iba, sa mga mata ko ay hindi nakatakas ang ikinukubli niyang pagdaing.
