7 - "Impressive"

Finally I've found some peace in the library
"Hey Silver" of course not
"Ash" I nod acknowledging his presence
"Took me a while to find you, good hiding place I suppose, I don't read too much so I don't come here"
"Not good enough" I mutter
"Sorry?" He questions, I decide to drop it
"Sorry just not feeling very social right now" I explain in the simplest way possible
"Why not?"
"Too many people here, I'm not very good at keeping up with people, I prefer to be on my own" I tell him truthfully
"Oh" his face drops a little "I always find it a little awkward and depressing to be alone" he contributes "do you have many friends back home?" I shake my head but he gestures for me to carry on so I take a deep breathe and skip around the truth
"I had one close friend who I fell out of touch with and another who I eventually dated for a bit but we wanted different things" I shrug.

Well he wanted to hurt people to get his own way, through the white fang that is, and I wanted out so it's not that simple but I'm technically not lying either.

"Any other friends?" He asks
"No"
"Seriously, wow" he mutters
"Is that weird?" I question
"A bit but I mean you have more friends now, I mean you have me and our team, your sisters team and team JNPR" he lists
"There not all my friends" I point out
"Who would you count as your friends then?" He asks curiously
"You and that's it" I shrug
"Seriously? I mean I'm flattered that you class me as a friend but what about our team mates?"
"Maybe one day but not now" I shrug again, he hums
"You looking forward to the trip tomorrow?" He asks changing the subject
"Not really, why?"
"Your not?" His voice goes higher showing he's surprised "you are a mystery" I roll my eyes as I look back at my book "I'm going to our dorm, you coming?"
"I'm gonna go outside for a bit" I get up and leave with him but we both go our separate ways

Now can I have some time alone.

I pull my book out and start to read as I sit on a bench
"Hello again Silver" argh
"Phyrra" I nod but I don't look up from my book
"Have you seen Jaune?" She asks
"Nope" I shake my head still not looking up, I'm not making that mistake again.

Timeskip

"Yes students the forest of forever fall is beautiful but you are here to collect sap from these trees, I expect you all to fill one jar each, you should stay with your team mates and will meet me back here in an hour so also feel free to explore. You should know this forest is crawling with the creatures of Grimm, do not hesitate to destroy any in your way"

I make my way over to my team who are chatting animatedly
"Silver your here right let's go" Coral gestures the three of us to follow her deep into the forest.

Coral and Lavender start to collect the sap as me and Ash sit back against a tree.

"You realise we have to get one each right?" Lavender turns towards us
"We need four, Goodwitch isn't here so you two could get it for us" Ash lists in response
"Fine" Coral mumbles before grabbing the other two jars and heading towards a tree.

"Now we can relax" Ash winks at me but I just roll my eyes and grab my book, causing a laugh to erupt from Ash.

"That's a big Ursa" we hear a shout pass us
"What now?!" I look up a bit frustrated

Coral grabs one of the guys running past,
"What's going on?" She demands
"A big Ursa's got Cardin, oh and that weird kid Jaune I think" he adds as an afterthought
"Come on" Coral beckons us to follow her "don't forget the sap!" She calls back as we start following, so me and Ash grab the jars of sap and run to catch up with them

"Don't do anything!" Phyrra Nikos stops everyone, my team and Ruby and Schnee, from intervening.
We watch Jaune as Phyrra holds her hand out in front of us as a sign to stop us from doing anything but to our surprise she raises her other hand and manages to control Jaune's shield helping him take the big grim down.

"Wha-!" Ruby gasps
"Well Weiss has her glyphs, you have your speed, my semblance is polarity" she explains, that's a really good semblance to have especially when the majority of weapons are made of metal
"You can control poles" I turn to Ruby trying to figure out if she's joking or not, she's really not and that's quite worrying
"No you dunce she has control over magnetism" Schnee tells her
"Magnets are cool too" Ruby mutters

Phyrra starts to leave but Ruby stops her
"We need to tell Goodwitch" she suggests
"Or we could keep it to ourselves" Phyrra again intervenes

Ruby and Schnee follow Phyrra and leave followed by my team, I stop and watch Jaune warn Cardin causing him to walk off
"Impressive" I speak up taking Jaune by surprise, he nods before suggesting we head to the clearing to meet Goodwitch and we both head off.

The stories going to get a bit more exciting as of the next chapter
