I zone out of the fight as I wonder what caused Little Rose to leave so suddenly.
Before I give up looking I see a figure opposite, a familiar figure, a figure who was supposed to be in mistral or haven academy.
Emerald.
I stare at her and get up quickly, leaving before anyone can question me. As I walk through the colosseum I hear a familiar voice.
I rush around the corner and see little rose opposite Mercury, who's leg seems fine by the way. I kick the second year from behind distracting him enough ,as he retaliates kicking me in the back with so much force i hit the wall with a visible thud, that Little Rose can use her semblance to get to the arena, to get away I slip invisible but by the time I reach Little Rose it's too late, she's on her knees looking out at the arena where Phyrra's stood shaking whilst Penny is cut in half on the ground. Penny's a robot, polarity vs metal. I grimace looking at the scene and back at Little Rose who is clearly crying, I turn around hearing a disturbing chuckle to see Mercury leave.
The intercom comes alive, only the voice that sounds is not that of Oobleck's or Port's, it's a females, one I do not recognise in the slightest
"This is not a tragedy. This was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, your children, to men who claim to be our guardians but are in reality nothing more than men. Our academies' headmasters wield more power than most armies, and one was audacious enough to control both.
They cling to this power in the name of peace, and yet, what do we have here? One nation's attempt at a synthetic army mercilessly torn apart by another's star pupil. What need would Atlas have for a soldier disguised as an innocent little girl? I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference. And what is Ozpin teaching his students? First, a dismemberment, now this? Huntsmen and Huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy, yet I have witnessed neither.
Perhaps Ozpin felt as though defeating Atlas in the tournament would help people forget his colossal failure to protect Vale when the Grimm invaded its streets. Or perhaps this was his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong, but I know that the existence of peace is fragile, and the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves. As someone who hails from Mistral, I can assure you the situation there is equally undesirable.
Our kingdoms are at the brink of war, yet we, the citizens, are left in the dark. So, I ask you, when the first shots are fired, who do you think you can trust?"
The screens fizzle out and the once silent colosseum springs to life with screams of terror, people running in all directions. A nevermore appears above the arena seeing this I look out at the stadium to see Phyrra fall to her knees holding a piece of Penny's skirt.
"Nikos move!!" I shout, she doesn't even flinch, I look up again "that's not going to hold it for long" I comment as little rose stands up "Nikos!!!!" I call again before running into the arena with little rose.
A crash grabs our attention
"Great, just great" I roll my eyes as I see the Nevermore fly in and face us.
Little rose grabs one of Penny's swords to fight it which grabs the creatures attention.
However before she lays a blade on it it's quickly incapacitated temporarily as students lockers crash onto the top of it.
The Grimm slowly wakes up and shakes everyone off but Nora jumps straight into action, she nails it with her hammer as yatsuhashi and sage use there blades to cut its head off.
"Ruby I'm so sorry" Phyrra cries out as she looks down at the piece of Penny's skirt that she's holding.
"Me too. But it wasn't your fault" Little rose states firmly
"She's right, whoever was on the microphone there the ones that did this. And we have to make sure they don't take anyone else." Jaune finishes and Phyrra gets up as Jaune hands her her weapon and other students join us.
"Sun I need your scroll" little rose holds out her hand waiting for it, Sunny throws it over to little rose who catches it and types in a code, which results in her locker appearing so she can grab her weopon. Though before she can a grimm lands on top of it, I go to fight it off myself but it's shot by Professor Port.
"I think it would be best for you to leave" Port exclaims
"But we can he.....!" Little rose rebuts
"Miss Rose" Oobleck calls "this day will no doubt go down in history and I would prefer my students to be alive to tell about it."
We all eventually nod and leave coming across Ironwood who fights a grimm before turning to us. I finally log back in when I hear him explain our options
"You can protect your school or turn around and run, no one will hold it against you if you choose to leave."
We all head onto a ship and before I can pull her back little rose jumps out the plane heading for Ironwoods ship
"Idiot little rose!" I hiss under my breath
"She'll be okay" Coral pats my shoulder.
"Come on!" I follow Blake towards the school where we see white fang members, we turn to Weiss and coral who seem to understand as they nod
"Be careful" we hug each other before going our own ways
"They'll be fine" i tell Blake as I sense her hesitance, she nods firmly. But two voices cause us to halt and turn towards the building.
"Pathetic!"
"Filthy, the lot of em"
Me and Blake face each other, the fear in her eyes undoubtedly mirrors my own but we head in anyway.
Head in to face our demons.
