3 - "Why don't any of you ever listen to me"

We all get up and out of the house early holding our scrolls to try to get people to help protect Haven.

I don't see the point they're not going to want to fight. I stand near the docks feeling bored watching, from a distance, Sunny and Blake trying there hardest to get people to help.

"Silver" a voice pulls me out of my thoughts as I turn around but the person I see makes me freeze up.

Flashback - Age 9

Mum and dad said I should go and play outside but Blakey is too busy playing with Ilia and I don't know where Crimson is so I just sit on a bench near the docks on my own.

"Please stop" I turn around to see a girl around my age being pushed by some older boys, one I recognise as Adam a boy the same age as Crimson
I get up and head over
"Hey, leave her alone" I put my hands on my waist
"Or what!" Adam towers over me and I start shaking a little, maybe I shouldn't have cone over
"O-or I-I'll tell m-my dad who's the chief of menagerie" the boy rolls his eyes looking down at me.
"I'm sure we'll meet again"
"I hope not" I say stupidly, Adam turns around to glare at me before gesturing the other boys to follow.
"Thank you" the girl says
"It's okay"
"I'm Sapphire" she tells me "Sapphire Jade"
"I'm Silver, Silver Belladonna" she nods

Back to the present

From then on me and Sapphire became really close, well until I started dating Crimson, he hated Saff and we fell out of touch.

"Sil" she clicks her fingers in my face, I shake my head snapping out of it
"Saph"
"It's been a long time"
"Over three years" I work out quickly
"I heard about what Crimson and Adam did , I'm sorry" I offer a sad smile "can we catch up?" I look at my blank scroll and back at Blake and Sunny before turning and walking off
"Are you coming?" I ask looking over my shoulder
"Me?" She questions pointing towards herself
"Who else?" I roll my eyes, I would never admit it to anyone but I miss this. She follows after me and we make it to the small spot of sand ,away from the rest of the sandy beach, where we used to spend most of our time a while ago.

"The memories this spot of sand stirs up is ridiculous" she skips over sitting down next to me. I let out an uncharacteristic giggle
"Yeah, you told me you were crushing on Jett" I recall
"You told me Blake was dating Adam and you liked Crimson"
"And you told me you didn't get a good vibe from him and  I started dating him not long later" the mood drops immediately
"I don't blame you for us drifting apart" she smiles softly "it's Crimson I blame" she divulges
"I blame Crimson too" we fall into a comfortable silence
"And then you went to Beacon" she comments
"Yeah"
"What was it like?"
"Overwhelming at times but I had a great team"
"Tell me everything" I smile looking down for a second "well my teammate was/ is Ash, he's the biggest flirt"
"Really?!" She asks surprised "and you were/ are friends?"
"Yeah" I nod " I'm as surprised as you, and then there was Coral and Lavender" Saph's face drops
"Lavender? Lavender Lowell?" She questions
"Yeah, Crimson murdered her" i tell her bluntly
Her hand goes to her mouth and she looks shocked "were you there?" She asks concerned
"I saw the whole thing" i tell her
"You blame yourself" she states
"I told her to run, I knew he'd hurt her, I didn't think he'd kill her" I offer honestly
"If it were me and you told me to leave I'd have stayed and fought him to try to protect you" my head snaps towards her so quickly I go a little dizzy
"No! I don't want, nor have I ever wanted anyone to fight for me!" I exclaim
"That's not your choice to make, if Lavender fought for you it's because she wanted to, she knew the risks yet she cared enough to do it anyway" she pauses "and it's a pretty crappy way to pay her back by being miserable and feeling guilty" i eye her. Without warning I pull her into a hug taking her by surprise, clear from the slight yelp she lets out before she hugs me back.

Whilst we pull away she yanks my scroll off of me, after a second she hands it back and I find the sign up sheet with a filled in line.

I smile at her as we both get up.

Timeskip
I meet Sapphire outside my house when Sunny runs up to us out of breathe
"I need your help, Blake went to meet with Ilia"
"What! Alone? Why don't any of you ever listen to me" i huff "let's go" Saph starts to follow us

"No" I stop her "I can't guarantee your safety and you don't know how to fight"
"I'll stay here" satisfied me and Sunny head off "you let her go" I shake my head
"She asked me to be the back up in case you were right and she gets ambushed or Ilia attacks her, I just figured you and me as back up might be better"
"Where are you going?" I ask him stopping him in his spot
"To help Blake" he says as if I was stupid
"Why don't you let Ilia know your coming?" I shake my head "come on" he follows behind me as I start to scale up the side of a house ducking down on the roof
"What are you doing?" He asks a little too loud for my liking, I put my finger to my lips to shush him.
"We need to be inconspicuous, make them let there guard down" I hear something being broken a little while a way, I shake my head ignoring it and gesture Sunny to follow me. We hop across the buildings until we make it to the clearing.
Blake's tied up and is in front of four faunas' including ,of course, Ilia.

"No but getting rid of your family is" I hear Ilia say
"She's got Blake so others can get to mum and dad, we need to get Blake quickly and go help mum and dad" i state quickly

Ilia and Yuma leave.

"Now!" Blake shouts

Sunny jumps down knocking out the faunas next to Trifa.

I grab Trifa from the back, wrapping my arm around her throat as Sunny attempts to release Blake from the ropes. Trifa throws me off I hit my head on the concrete, Trifa goes for me as I try to grab my weapon which was out of arms reach. But Trifa falls forward, I just manage to roll out of the way so Trifa hits the floor and not me. Trifa's attacker is revealed and I shake my head regaining my strength.

"I told you to stay behind!" I sigh exasperated
"And I told you, you can't control what your friends do" I shake my head again and turn to see Sunny is still struggling with the ropes around Blake's wrists, I push him out of the way, grab my spear and rip through the ropes. "You have a blade why were you trying to undo it with your hands?" I shake my head

"We don't have time for this we need to help mum and dad" I nod
"come on then" i gesture them to follow and we run towards our house.
