Earth Kills Part 2

Later that evening, everyone starts running into the dropship, most coughing. 

"What's going on?" Monty asks. A couple hours beforehand, he had joined me with Jasper. 

"Air got thick, everybody's skin started burning," a random boy says. Octavia starts freaking out and I quickly start becoming claustrophobic. Hours pass before anything happens. By this point, my head is between my knees and I'm rocking back and forth, trying to relax. Jasper keeps moaning and people are complaining. Soon, I hear from below,

"That's it. I'm ending it." 

"I heard Bellamy gave him until tomorrow," another person says. 

"Yeah, well, Bellamy isn't here, is he? The kid's dying anyway. I'm just getting it over with." Monty flies up the ladder and announces that Murphy is going to kill Jasper. With the help of Octavia, they manage to close the door on Murphy and make a makeshift lock. Murphy is yelling but we all try to shut the sound out. 

Even more time has passed. Monty had helped me change the bandage on Jasper since it was soaked through with a bit of blood. There is a lot of commotion downstairs and someone unlocks the hatch and people start filing out. 

"Go get some air. Clarke should be able to do this," Monty says to me. I make my way out of the dropship and rush to the side to throw up. I didn't even know I needed to but I guess the claustrophobia caused it. I hear Octavia begin to cry and I turn around to see that Bellamy was carrying a body and Octavia knew who it was. Bellamy glances over and makes eye contact. I look away and walk over to the water. Before I can get there, Murphy gets in my way. 

"Haven't seen you around here before," he say. I try to go around him but he doesn't let me.

"Hey, what's the rush? We should have some fun. Just me and you," he says. As soon as he places his hand on my arm, my fist makes contact with his nose and he falls flat on his back. People start laughing. I move forward, get a drink of water, and step over him while heading back to the dropship. 

"Nice punch," Bellamy says as I walk past him. I smile a little and head inside, hoping to help with Jasper. Once in the dropship, I decide to stay in the level below, not wanting to crowd Jasper but Clarke comes down. 

"What's all the commotion outside?" she asks. 

"I punched Murphy," I say. She laughs. 

"Can you go up and keep an eye on Jasper? I need a break," she says. I nod and climb up to the second floor to find Octavia, Monty and Finn still up there. I sit near Jasper and watch him. His breathing is more even now that he actually has medicine. 

"Smooth," you hear Finn say. You look up to see Octavia take a drink from a bottle. 

"Disgusting. Love it. Want some Ash?" she offers. I shake my head no. But someone else speaks up.

"Can I, uh, get a hit of that?" Jasper says. We all jump and get closer to him. 

"Jasper!" Octavia says excitedly. 

"Let's start with the soft stuff," Monty says. He helps lift Jaspers head and get him some water. 

"Welcome back, buddy." 

"Was that a dream or did I get speared?" Jasper says. 

"You'll have a very impressive scar to prove it," Clarke says as she climbs into the room.

"My savior." 

"Thank you for not dying. I don't think I could've taken that today. Also, it wasn't just me who saved you," she says. She looks over at me and then I feel all eyes on me. Jasper reaches over and touches my hand. 

"Thank you. I'll try not to die tomorrow too, if that's cool," he says. I smile and meet his eyes, knowing that I just made another friend.
