I make my way back to the ground and relax a little to see that no one is paying me any attention. I walked right past all the people building and out into the forest. I don't know where I am going, but I don't plan on making my way back any time soon.
8 hours later...
I make my way up the river, not knowing which way I came from. It is getting dark out and harder to see where I am going. I stop and sit on the bank. I haven't had this much physical activity since before I got arrested. I carefully lean down and take a drink from the river.
God, what would Bellamy think if he got back and I was gone? I ask myself.
"Don't think about Bellamy. He doesn't control me," I say. I get up off the ground and continue walking. I shouldn't've left. I haven't eaten in almost five days and have no strength. Finally, after walking for another hour, I hear the clamoring of the other people. I walk into camp to see that Bellamy had returned with food. I find a tree right near the wall and sit against it, drained of all energy. Finn and Clarke walk up and just grab food while others wait in line to take their wristbands off. When one of the boys tries to take food, Bellamy stops and punches him. I close my eyes and go to sleep, too weak to move.
I wake up to Bellamy carrying me to a tent. I start to freak out and he carefully sets me down on my feet.
"Whoa, you are okay," he says. He holds onto my shoulders, trying to keep me still. The physical contact is making it worse.
"Bellamy, what are you doing?" Clarke says as she makes her way over, Finn trailing behind.
"She fell asleep past the wall. I was just trying to get her somewhere safe," he says as he lets go of me. I immediately take a few steps back from them, giving myself space. I can feel their eyes on me but I don't look at anyone.
"We were trying to find you to give you food. Were you gone this whole time?" Clarke asks. I still don't answer. Finn whispers something to Clarke but I can't hear it.
"Let's get you to the dropship and then we will leave you alone, no questions asked. Okay?" Finn says softly. I glance up at him and see the worry in his eyes. He offers out his hand. I hesitantly take it and let him lead me to the dropship and my hammock. When we get into the dropship, he hands me a chunk of meat.
"Whenever you are ready to talk, Clarke and I will listen. I know you spent a lot of time alone. Clarke told me about her visits to you before she got arrested," he says quietly.
"Thank you," I whisper. He leaves and I eat the meat before quickly falling asleep.
Bellamy's P.O.V.
As soon as Finn leaves with Ash, I turn to Clarke.
"What the hell was that?" I ask. Clarke is looking at the dropship, following Finn and Ash.
"Do you know who she is?" Clarke asks.
"No," I say as I realize that I have no idea if this girl is a murderer or not.
"Her name is Ash. Her parents were floated when she was ten for stealing. She proceeded to attack a guard and get put in lockup. She has spent almost 8 years in solitary. She kept attacking guards anytime they let her out. I would visit her and teach her until I got locked up. She doesn't react well to physical touch or talking," Clarke explains. I process what Clarke says and realize just how much this girl has gone through.
"I didn't know," I say. I turn and walk to my tent but stop when Clarke speaks again.
"Just be careful with her. She doesn't trust easily and if you break her, I will break you."
