"The blade is at a sharp upward angle. Between his sixth and seventh rib," Clarke explains to her mom.
"Okay, how deep?"
"Well, I can't tell how deep it goes."
"That's alright, just don't remove the knife yet," Abby says.
"Hey, here, sterilize your hands," Clarke says to Raven. Raven takes a drink of the moonshine and helps me sterilize my hands along with hers.
"Clarke, do you see any fluid?" I could barely hear as everyone around is getting quite loud.
"Damn it! Clear the room." Raven goes off and shooes everyone out of the room.
"He feels a little warm," Clarke says to the radio.
"That's alright, fever sometimes accompanies a trauma. Clarke, I need you to tell me if there is any fluid leaking from the wound," Abby says. I help hold Finn while Clarke checks.
"No."
"That's good. That's actually really good. You got lucky." Raven gets close to Finn.
"Hear that? You're lucky." I look at Clarke and see that she is uncomfortable. I realize what must have happened but I won't say anything.
"Okay Clarke, firm grip on the knife. You're gonna need to angle it upward to the left very slightly to the left as it exits the rib cage," Abby instructs.
"How very slightly?"
"3 mill-" The radio cuts out.
"Wait what was that? You dropped out," Clarke says. I can tell she is panicking.
"Clarke, 3 millimeters. Got it?"
"Yeah, I got it. Here it goes."
"Steady hand Clarke. You've eviscerated more procedures than this. Once that knife is out, the hard part is over." Lightning cracks outside.
"Alright, extracting now."
"He's waking up!" Raven says. I move to where I am holding his arms from moving and Raven grabs his legs.
"Hold him still. Finn, I'm gonna get that knife out of you, ok?" He tries to speak and move.
"Finn, you can't move," I say to him. Suddenly, the storm causes the entire dropship to move, throwing us all from where we are.
"Clarke!" Abby is yelling into the mike. Unfortunately, when I got thrown, my head hit the wall pretty hard, causing my vision to go blurry.
"Clarke! Clarke! What's happening? Clarke, can you hear us? Clarke?"
"It's out. She did it," Raven says.
After my vision cleared enough to where I could see a little, I help hold Finn while Clarke stitches him up.
"Okay, I'm done," Clarke says.
"Good. Do you have anything to cover the wound?" Abby asks.
"We'll make do, like always." I scoot away from Finn, allowing Raven more room. My head is throbbing and I feel like I'm going to throw up. My hearing goes fuzzy and I just watch the interaction between Raven and Clarke. Clarke goes upstairs to where Bellamy and the Grounder are. Not much longer later, Finn begins seizing. My head prevents me from moving to help.
"Clarke! He's seizing!" Raven mouths. I realize my hearing is completely gone for the moment. Soon, my vision goes dark and I lose consciousness.
Bellamy's P.O.V.
I need a break. I need to talk to Ash. The storm is letting up so I head down and outside. After walking around for a bit, I head back into the dropship because I can't find her. Back on the floor with Finn, Raven sits there stroking his hair.
"Have you seen Ash?" I ask her. She looks up and she thinks.
"The last time I saw her was right before he started seizing," she says. I look around and finally see her tucked in a corner, asleep. I walk over and kneel in front of her.
"Hey, wake up sleeping beauty," I say quietly. She doesn't move. I touch her face but she still doesn't move. I notice something running down the side of her neck. When I pull my hand away, I realize that it is blood.
"Raven, where's Clarke?" I ask. "She went up to try to clean the grounder's wounds why?" I carefully lift Ash out of the corner and lay her down, I see the open wound on her scalp.
"Did she hit her head when the dropship moved?" Raven comes over and sees the issue.
"Oh shit. I'll go get Clarke," she says. She heads off and I take a torn shirt from the floor and carefully put pressure on the wound. Soon, Clarke is back and she rushes over. I remove the cloth and Clarke looks at the wound.
"No stitches needed. She will need to be watched carefully. If she doesn't wake up in a couple of hours, then we have a problem." I carry her to my tent.
"Why is it always you getting hurt?" I sit and watch her closely, praying she will wake up.
