"Check it out."
"Bellamy, get out here!" someone yells. I sit up in a tent as Bellamy runs outside. Apparently, he put me here after we got back last night.
"They're coming to help us. Now we can kick some grounder ass," someone else says. I carefully get out of the tent to watch as a ship shoots across the sky. People are cheering but Bellamy doesn't look very happy. After the ship leaves everyone's view, people start planning about how they are going to get there and what (or who) could possibly be in it. People are running around and Bellamy heads into the dropship. I decide to follow him in and see what his plan is. I stop at the entrance when I hear Octavia talking with her brother.
"We should get moving. Everyone's ready."
"No one's going anywhere. Not while it's dark it isn't safe. We'll head out at first light; pass the word," he says. He goes to leave but Octavia blocks his exit.
"Everyone for a hundred miles saw this thing come down. What if the grounders get to it first? Bell, we should go now," she says, trying to convince him.
"I said we wait till sunrise." He leaves the dropship and stops when he sees me outside.
"Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you," he says.
"Why aren't you going to go after the ship?" I ask. He gives me a soft smile.
"In the morning. It will be safer. Plus we already had a pretty eventful night. Why don't you come back to bed," he offers. He holds out his hand and even though I don't really want to, I take his hand and follow him back into his tent. Once back inside the tent, he starts packing some things.
"I thought we were waiting for sunrise?" I ask. He turns and looks at me, a determined look on his face.
"I'm sorry. I have to go. If there is a radio-"
"If there is a radio, that means that the people of the Ark might come down and whatever you did to get on the dropship will come back to bite you in the ass," I say finishing his sentence.
"Bellamy," I stand up and step closer to him, "what did you do?" He hangs his head.
"I shot the Chancellor," he says. I pull him into a hug.
"It's okay. You did what you had to for Octavia," I say, even if I didn't believe it myself. He squeezes me just a bit tighter.
"Thank you. But I still have to go. You should rest while I'm gone," he says as he lets me go.
"I know but I am gonna go scavenge for food, meaning that you can slip away and nobody will ask me where you are. Go," I say. I leave the tent with a bag and grab someone else, going out to scavenge for some food.
