Murphy's Law Part 3

A couple of hours later...

"Finn, Ash, wake up. She's gone," Clarke says. We make our way out of the bunker. 

"Someone else was here," Finn says as we look around.

"No, no! Murphy!" we hear her scream.

"Shit," I say.

"Muphy has her."

We run towards the screaming and find Murphy's group facing Charlotte and Bellamy at the edge of a cliff.

"Charlotte! Damn it. Bellamy! You cannot fight all of us. Give her up."

"Maybe not, but I guarantee I'll take a few of you with me," he says.

"Bellamy! Stop! This has gone too far. Just calm down. We'll talk about this," Clarke says as she walks forward. Unfortunately, I was closer to Murphy so when he got mad at Clarke talking, he grabbed me instead and holds a knife to my throat.

"Let her go," Bellamy says. I can hear the anger in his voice.

"I will slit her throat," Murphy threatens. He tightens his grip and I can feel the blade dig into my neck.

"No, please. Please don't hurt her," Charlotte begs.

"Don't hurt her? Okay, I'll make you a deal. You come with me right now, I will let her go." I feel blood trickle down my neck.

"Don't do it, Charlotte. Don't do it, Charlotte!" Bellamy tries to hold her back.

"No! No, I have to!" she screams.

"I can't let any of you get hurt anymore. Not because of me. Not after what I did." Before anyone can react, she jumps off the cliff.

"Charlotte!" Clarke screams. Murphy pulls the knife from my neck but he also leaves a cut across it because he pulled away so quickly. It is not deep enough to kill me. I fall to the ground and instinctively my hand goes to my throat. I guess I blacked out for a minute because time passed and I woke up to screaming.

"Bellamy. Bellamy, stop! You'll kill him!" I look and see that Bellamy is beating up Murphy. Finn tries to stop the fight but Bellamy pushes him off.

"Get off me! Uhh! He deserves to die." I sit up and decide to crawl over and place my hand on his shoulder, stopping him. He looks at me with tears in his eyes. His eyes scan my face and his fingers brush the bruise on my face.

"No. We don't decide who lives and dies. Not down here," I say quietly.

"Ash is right," Clarke inputs.

"So help me God, if you say the people have a right to decide..."

"No, I was wrong before, okay? You were right. Sometimes it's dangerous to tell people the truth. But if we're gonna survive down here, we can't just live by whatever the hell we want. We need rules," Clarke says.

"And who makes those rules, huh? You?" Bellamy fires back.

"For now, we make the rules. Okay?" They both agree.

"So, what, then? We just take him back and pretend like it never happened?" Bellany asks.

"No! We banish him," Clarke states. Bellamy stands up and pulls Murphy up off the ground. "Get up."

"Bellamy! Stop!"

"If I ever catch you near the camp, we'll be back here. Understand? As for the four of you, you can come back and follow me, or go off with him to die. Your choice," he says to Murphy's companions. He turns away from the group and helps me up off the ground. I can feel Finn's eyes burning into my back as I accept his help but I am weak and tired.

"Lead the way," Bellamy says to Clarke and Finn. Before we move forward, he tears off the bottom of his shirt and carefully wraps it around my neck.

"We will get this treated when we get back," he says softly. I can tell he is still really upset about Charlotte.

"It's not your fault Bellamy. She made her own choice," I say, laying my hand on his arm. His head falls and so do more tears.

"I'm the one who told her to slay her demons. I am the reason she killed Wells." I carefully wrap my arms around his neck and pull him into a hug. His arms wrap around my waist and he cries into my shoulder and holds me tight. We stand like that for a bit before he lets me go but I keep my hands on his face.

"It is not your fault. You tried your best and that's all you could do." I place a quick kiss on his cheek and pull away. He makes sure that my neck is wrapped to stop all bleeding, then grabs my hand and we start walking back to camp. Finn and Clarke lead with the four others behind them and then Bellamy and I are in the back.
