22: Leroy Sanguine

"Let me get this straight, you were attacked in your childhood by a blood elemental and you don't remember anything? "

"Yeah," I said, sipping my coffee.

"And apart from you and your father this uncle Derek was also there who ran away and you need to find him to know what exactly that blood elemental did to you? Am I going right?" Emmett said slowly.

"Right," I said.

"And why do you suspect that incident is related to these so-called fluctuations in your powers?"

"Because before and after that incident nothing abnormal happened to me" I said, rubbing my forehead.

"And what are these fluctuations in your powers?" Emmett asked. He doesn't trust me completely. But it's fine because the feeling is mutual.

I met Lana's eyes and she gave me a small nod. "I can't use my powers like normal elementals do. My power is weak, too weak. And I can't even master the magia. It's making me weak" I said carefully avoiding the part of me doing barbaric things like attacking Lavia.

Lana has advised to avoid telling this to Emmett even though Emmett is her friend and Lavia knows him too but it's better to not risk this. Maybe when time comes I will explain to him but for now it's better off as a secret. Heaven knows what people might do with me if they get to know that I am showing signs like varlets. I involuntarily shuddered at that thought. My hands went towards the locket which was hidden under my shirt.

"Okay I got this. But before we proceed, do you know everything about Blood Elemental?" Emmett asked.

"Erm..only the basic stuff, they don't exactly teach this in school you know" I said laughing awkwardly.

"Right of course, so let me explain first" Emmett said as he got up from his seat and went out.

"Why are you so silent?" I asked Lana who was leaning back comfortably in her chair.

"Just thinking," She said, dismissing me.

I sighed and took out the locket from under the shirt and examined it.

"Hey hide it back do you wanna expose us?" Lana said, slapping my hands.

I put the locket inside and stared at her "What do you mean?"

"This locket is something that we shouldn't have in our possession. It's funny how your mother didn't realise it so it's better if you keep it hidden" She said rolling her eyes. I just nodded as Emmett came back with some papers.

"I collected some information about Blood elemental so it will be easy for you to understand Sapphire," He said looking at me "and I suppose Lana you know some of it already?" Lana just nodded in answer.

"This is about a long time back, around 900 years or so when Sanguines or Blood elementals were the most powerful among all the elementals except sun and moon elementals. They were always jealous of those two because of the great powers they shared. The special thing about these three elementals was that they can use the power of any element they desire. Those three were like a superior race."

I leaned forward and saw Lana do the same.

"Some blood elementals believe that their race is the only supreme race and the other elementals are just mutants of sanguines. They despised other races. So they decided to separate themselves from other elementals. They gave an ultimatum for other sanguines to join them. Some joined voluntarily but some were still reluctant so they were abandoned by their people."

"That is so mean!! What happened to those abandoned people?" I asked curiously.

"They were taken in by the Sun and Moon elementals. They trained them to be better in their own powers. Due to their actions other blood elementals too wanted to join the sun and the moon too and this obviously infuriated the blood elemental leader of that time. His name was Leroy Sanguine. He was the most despicable blood elemental.
