Home or should I say palace . Yes Zion's palace is not like the disney one but it is more like a royal mansion. The elemental palace is very beautiful with it's ornate building. It's exterior is very beautiful and the interior is also very regal. It reminds me of the personality of our king and queen, warm and regal. It has a lovely courtyard where I like to spend my time reading books , listening to songs and practicing our powers.

It's not that we don't have fun. It's the 21st century after all but human luxuries like vacation, netflix, movies etc are not our foremost priority. Our foremost priority is to keep us secret and guard the humans from varlets. Varlets are those elementals who have used their powers to kill some innocent humans as well as elementals. Varlets tend to disobey the king and kill humans for experiments. They are like the rogues in werewolf stories.

Zion's father is the king of the elementals throughout the world . Though to the human world Quintus Vallerte is a self made Billionaire and the nobles are his employees. Our palace is hidden from the eyes of the humans by an invisible wall casted by queen Yolanda who can control invisible forces. To humas it would look like a normal mansion where the billionaire lives. I have lived here in the palace since I was fourteen because after my father's death I started to feel depressed so the queen suggested that it would be good to have a change in environment.

I went to my room and sat at the end of my bed staring at the picture of my family. Me, mother, father and Seb.

Seb my brother hates me and not in a playful manner. He wasn't always like that. When we were kids he was the overprotective brother, if someone bullied me for my shyness he would tell them off with lots of threats. If my parents scolded me, he would defend me. When my cat Ms. Boots (may her soul rest in peace) he comforted me. Now, he doesn't even acknowledge me. It breaks my heart whenever he holds me responsible for father's death and the worst part is that it's true.

As I was drowning myself in self pity I heard a knock on the door and a blonde girl peered inside.

"Hi Zoe, is there any problem?" I questioned Zion's 16 year old sister and my best friend.

"Can't I visit you without any reasons ?"

"Sorry I didn't mean to offend you." one thing I hate is to offend someone. It makes me uneasy and guilty .

"No silly I was kidding, actually I did come here for a reason, Zion is setting up a campfire at our usual spot . Everyone is coming and you have to come too."

"Yeah okay but I have to get ready, give me a few minutes."

"Okay but come soon we have to hear some ghost stories." she grinned evilly.

"Hey, that's not fair." I protested. I really hate ghost stories. 

"Everything is fair in a campfire gathering." Zoe said with a cheeky smile which reminds me of Zion. She is a blonde unlike Zion who has black luscious hair which he got from his mother and emerald green eyes from his father. He is really very handsome. 

"Okay I will leave you to dream about my doofus brother, but do get ready." Zoe said, closing the door after her. 

My cheeks went red after hearing her comment .

She is my best friend so she knows my crush on her brother but I had made her promise me to not tell my crush to his brother. But being Zoe she said that in return she would tease me when we are alone. Sighing I went off to get ready.
