18 : Turning into Varlet?

Soon after Sebastian hung up the call I swiftly started packing my bag. I myself didn't want to stay here now. I cannot trust anyone in this place and although I trust Zoe I don't want to drag her into this mess.

Packing up everything I texted Zoe that I wanted to be alone for sometime and switched it off.

Switching off the lights I picked up my blue colour stuffed bunny and sat on the window seat cuddling it.

Lifting up the curtains slightly I got the view of the courtyard. Students were practicing their magic. I spotted Zion as he stood still most likely concentrating and the next second he joined his hands together and when extended there was a sword in his hands. A sword which was made up of fire. It looked so easy but needed much concentration to actually summon weapons.

I moved my eyes to see Arthur too making a sword of ice which looked deadly. He had the same powers as his sister and mother but there was a difference. Charlotte can make snow more easily than Arthur and Charlotte's ice was more opaque than Arthur's ice.

"Humans say that the transparency of ice depends on the impurities. I guess in this situation Charlotte indeed has an impure soul." I chuckled at my own thoughts.

I looked outside again to see Arthur and Zion fencing. They need to be careful about each other's power from destroying their swords. This is what makes them different from me. They have control over their power. Unlike me who can't even hold the water still.

Using my power feels like making a sandcastle. It slips away from my hand. Literally.

But what interests me more is along with the power elements, us elementals have the power of Magia.

Magia is a power which is different from our elemental powers. It doesn't require our assigned elemental. Those powers include the cool stuff like telekinesis, telepathy, teleport, invisibility etc.

But we aren't born with these powers, we acquire it. We work hard to get these powers. Which is also taught by the Institutes.

Almost everyone around me has learnt how to do it. Except the loser me. The only thing I know is telekinesis which I learnt before my father died. I was a bright child.

But telekinesis using my element is difficult for me.

I was still wandering in my thoughts when I heard cheers outside. Lifting up the curtains again. I saw Zoe and George partnering up against Zion and Delilah. Arthur was nowhere to be seen.

I saw as Zion made a rope dart in which the dart was made up of fire. He wrapped one end of it in his fists and threw it in such a way which cut through the shield made by George. It was a shield made of rocks.

George stumbled back and counter attacked him. He touched the ground slightly and then slammed his hands so hard that made everyone on the courtyard stumble.

Beside them Zoe used her powers to grow creepers under Delilah which wrapped around her legs.

Delilah took out a dagger from her waist belt and slashed them to free herself.

She ran near a tree and smirked at Zoe before giving out a sharp whistle.

A ferocious looking wolf came out behind her. She made eye contact with the wolf and nodded slightly and then the wolf ran forward towards Zoe.

Zoe looked unbothered as she bent down and kept both of her palms on the ground and when she removed a giant plant emerged from the ground. It's tentacle-like stem had spikes.

The stems wrapped itself around the oncoming wolf and lifted it up high. It tightened around it's neck and before Delilah could attack her with her dagger Zoe disappeared. Momently confused Delilah turned around and was suddenly tackled from behind by Zoe.
