I reclined on the couch as I watched Sapphire go inside the room. Putting my legs on the table I relaxed myself. It's been a lot of fun these days. Usually I am alone but these new bizarre happenings have been making my life more interesting.

I looked up as Emmett came up and sat beside me.

"So? What's grandma doing?" I asked, looking at him.

"She's making some sort of concoction for Derek," Emmett said. I made a face thinking of it because grandma's concoction never tasted good.

"So what do you make of this situation?" I asked.

"Well not much can be said before Derek opens his mouth and I believe he is not the only one who's not opening his mouth"

"You mean Sapphire?" I asked.

"Yes, I think she is not truthful about her situation. There's something she's not revealing. What do you think?" Alarmed, I looked up. This guy was too smart for his own good. Clearing my throat I answered

"I don't think there's much being hidden. Grandma has checked too. She's kind of asinine and dense. I don't think she has the capability of hiding something big. She's generally a scaredy cat so she might want help which she wouldn't get if she's quiet"
I grimaced as I uttered nonsense just to save that stupid girl.

"Well it looks like you have her all figured out" Derek said smiling.

"Well she is an open book isn't she?" I said chuckling.

"Well yes, maybe I am just being paranoid"

I sighed in relief and closed my eyes. Grandma was the one who suggested that we don't reveal the things Sapphire is capable of. Apparently she is capable of more vicious things but I don't think I want to find out.

I remember the day I met her. I was so ready to kick her out until I saw something. Something which shouldn't ever come true.
I saw it and grandma saw it too. But we decided to not to tell this to Sapphire as it will do nothing but make her doubt herself.

I resist a shudder as I remember touching her hands. My vision got black and it was like that for a few seconds until I saw a new vision, a vision of her killing her family, her friends and me.

I know this is supposed to be a red flag but this is what urged me to take her in. If I am right, the visions I saw are the vicious things that Sapphire will be capable of in future if she is possessed by evil powers.

"Lana put your legs down" I opened my eyes and put down my legs as grandma placed three cups of coffee on the coffee table.

"Call Sapphire if she is done" She said before leaving. I smiled while sipping the hot coffee. Grandma is the only one who took care of me after I was abandoned by my damned parents.

My father was an elemental. An earth elemental. My mother was a seer. I didn't really bother about knowing their love story or how they ended up having me.

They left me to join the blood elemental. I remember the day when my mother left me here with the seer Lavia when I was 10 years old. I still remember the hushed conversation between my parents before they left me here.

They were blinded by the powers of the blood elemental. They wanted to convert into a sanguine but I was a burden to them. So they just handed me over to grandma and fucking left me alone.

And I am glad they left me here. I am better off with grandma than with a pair of criminals. The only thing I wanted to know was the reason why they became power hungry from sweet loving parents.

I placed the cup on the coffee table as Sapphire came out of her room and slowly walked in the living room. She looked like she was in a daze. I glanced at Emmett and I think he didn't notice her dazed look.
