‘’No”

‘’No?’’ Zion asked, surprised. I didn’t say anything as I got up to leave.

‘’Hey, you will think about it right?’’ He asked. But I couldn’t answer as I kept staring at my shoes.

‘’Will you at least let me take you back?’’

“I want to be alone Zion,’’ I said firmly.

“Defeated, Zion came closer to me and placed a kiss on my forehead before leaving the park.

‘’He didn’t have to do that,’’

Rubbing my forehead, I decided to take a walk alone. But my mind was fogged with the information overdose I received from Zion.

What did he mean by the varlet who killed my father is alive? It wasn’t a varlet who killed my father? Was Derek being honest all along? About the varlet turned-

‘’Watch your step’’ A voice hissed as the owner of the voice hit my shoulder with his. I looked above to see that I have bumped into the old man from before.

‘’I am sorry sir’’ I said and stepped aside.

‘’Watch your step” smiling the man was gone.

Walking with quick steps I reached the secluded part of the park, looking around for anyone I stood still. I am going to try and teleport myself.

Lana taught me but my first two times were horrible. Concentrating hard I pictured my house, my room.

Suddenly I felt my myself being lifted up from the ground and with a zap of electric sensation I fell down harshly on mother’s freshly mowed lawn.

Grunting I stood up and checked for any injuries which were minimal. Glad that the attempt was partially successful I walked to my room. Upon entering my room, I felt a sudden wave of weakness and something wet trickled out of my nose.

‘’That was hilarious’’ someone scoffed as I pinched my nose and sat down on the bed.

‘’I thought you said this won’t happen next time? You were almost successful’’ Lana said as she handed me a tissue.

‘’Well at least I ended up at my home and that is a big  accomplishment for me’’ I said gently wiping the dried blood with water.

‘’You’re getting good in controlling your powers’’ Lana remarked as I conjured more water to wipe my nose.

‘’At this rate you won’t need a bathroom’’

‘’Lana’’ I stared at her.

‘’What?’’ she said sashaying around my room.

‘’What are you doing here? and that was a bad joke’’

Chuckling she sat down beside me. ‘’Derek said something useful’’
I stilled and stared at her with questioning eyes.

‘’The information about the varlet he gave is true’’ Lana said.

‘’What do you mean?’’ I asked my legs trembling slightly. The familiar feeling of nausea and anxiety creeping on me.

‘’Charles Landsdown has become a varlet. My grandmother’s friend, a seer too confirmed this’’

‘’How?’’

‘’Grandmother along with her friend did a hypnosis test on Derek last night. It’s a very painful process but that was the only way we could know the truth. We tried to read his memories of eight years back that day’’ Lana said.
