3: Campfire

Hi guys here is the new chapter. This is my first book so please please forgive my mistakes 🥺🥺

I went down the hill near the forest which guards the palace. Near the forest there was a clearing where we usually set up our campfire. It was chilly today so I had decided to wear my blue cashmere with my blue loose fitting denim.

I like to wear clothes which don't show much skin. I am just uncomfortable wearing that type of clothes. I had left my mahogany hair open till it reached below my waist. I got my hair from my father, my chocolate brown eyes too.  I didn't put on any makeup as it's only a campfire gathering.

As I neared the campfire I could see that everyone had already gathered. My eyes first went to Zion. He was talking to Delilah Silverston who was also a daughter of a noble. She is a very good friend and I think she has a crush on Zion and perhaps he likes her too and why not because she is smart, outgoing and is not a wallflower like me.

But I don't harbor any ill feelings towards her as she is the kindest person I know. I am very shy in front of everyone except Zion because I have known him since we were toddlers. I sat beside George Cranston who is the joker of our group.

"Hey Saph, this isn't the 19th century" George said, eyeing my clothes.

"Ha ha very funny George" I said with sarcasm to hide my embarrassment.

"Hey you can wear whatever you want" Zion said to me while glaring at George.

Huffing Geroge returned to talk to Arthur Landsdown. Arthur is the son of our king's sister. Arthur and his sister Charlotte started living in the palace with their mother after Mr Landsdown died in some mysterious circumstances.
Arthur is very cute with his platinum blonde hair and silver eyes.

He is very shy and stutters when he is nervous. But his sister Charlotte is the opposite of him , she is vivacious, cunning and every boy's dream with her beach blonde hair and slim figure. Sometimes I envy her. But her personality puts off her appearance.

I usually don't swear but in her case I can't help but swear. Presently she is eating off Zoe's ears with some stupid story of her boyfriends.
I can see Zoe's face scrunched up in disgust. Poor Zoe, wish I could help her but who would go against Charlotte?

"Hi Sapphire y...you look beautiful today" Arthur greeted me.
"Thank you Arthur, you too look good" I said and suppressed my smile when I saw his cheeks becoming red.

"Really brother I thought you had some standards, you really disappoint me" Charlotte snorted unattractively.

We all exchanged glances and ignored her harsh comment as it was usual for us. That girl doesn't even know the p of politeness and has got a degree in rudeness.
Rolling my eyes, mentally of course I asked Zion to start the fire as he was a fire elemental. He also has the power of air. The royals have powers of two elements unlike us non royals.
We watched as Zion extended his palms and conjured fire on the bonfire sticks. He also conjured small spirits like fire floating around here.
I don't even know whether it is safe or not. I looked at Zion with a questioning look. He met my eyes and chuckled understanding my question and moved the fire spirits away from us in a safe distance.

"Well now it's done so how about we start the ghost stories." Zoe grinned, glancing at me. I really hate her at this moment.

Before I could protest Geroge cut me off. "Where is Sebastian, shouldn't he be here by now?"
Does he really have to remind everyone?

"I am here alright" a voice called out. I turned in my seat to see my brother walking towards our group. He stared at me with so much coldness that I shivered involuntarily. He came up and sat beside Zion.

Great ! Now there are two people present here who hate my guts with much sincerity. Sometimes I want to applaud their sincerity.
This is going to be a long night.
