CHAIRWOMAN KIM'S SUMMER HOUSE RESIDENCE

AUTHOR's POV

"Why do you even have to bring our child there, Ha-Joon? For God's sake, it's a business meeting."

"You barely spent time with your child whenever you come back home from your business trips and now you really had the audacity to bring her in one of your client meetings after you deliberately broke your promises to her a lot of times!" the fuming woman who was seated in the car's front seat hissed while she shot daggers at her husband on her side.

"Would you just shut up for once Ji-yoo. Our daughter is just behind us in case you had forgotten." the annoyed man hissed at her.

"And besides do you even think that I wanted this?"

"This project is a huge deal for our company and I heard that Chairwoman Kim had already had her appointments with our top competitors the other day. This is our only last shot Ji-Yoo" he reasoned out but the woman just scoffed at his nonsense.

"And what does Jisoo had to do about it that you have to bring her in?" her wife asked somewhat accusingly.

"Well I heard that Chairwoman Kim is a family-oriented woman. I heard from my source that she even brought her daughter with her here in Jeju in her business trip." the man started while he carefully parked his car in front of the Chateau where his client was currently staying.

"You brought your daughter with us for that goddamn business proposal so that you could show them how such a great father you are to our child?"

"And you have the audacity to act like one? Is that it?"

"So this was all for the act so you could secure that deal, right?" the woman uttered with mockery which angered her husband.

'Stop using that tone on me Ji-Yoo. We both know that I'm doing this for our business and not mine alone. This is for our child's future, Goddamit." the man hissed as low as he could fearing that his daughter might hear them fighting again.

"Eomma, Appa..Are you fighting again?"

"Is it because of me again?"

"I'm sorry..."

"I won't demand for anything again.."

"Just please don't fight." they suddenly heard a hollow voice speak from behind. The couple intuitively turned to her and found little Jisoo fidgeting from her seat with her face bowed down looking all guilty and ashamed and the couple's budding rage against each other were instantly filled with guilt.

"No Sweetie. We aren't fighting. Right Honey?" her Mom assured her smiling which her husband responded with continuous nods.

"We are just arguing on where to go after this. I promised you before that we'll go out for an ice cream right?" the man answered and this time, the little girl's sad demeanor suddenly lifts up.

"Really? We really are going? No backing out of promises Dad?" the little girl asked a little apprehensive which made the man chuckled softly.

"See? Even the child could see how much you had disappointed her for countless times already, Ha-Joon." Ji-Yoo whispered with a tone of resentment.
