AUTHOR's POV

The night deepens as luminous full moon glimmers with soft lunar lights. Millions of stars light up the night sky like beautiful tiny fireworks, giving it an ethereal glow.

Inside the black SUV, Jisoo can't help but heave a deep sigh as her gaze traveled from the beautiful night sky back to the busy city street from the passenger window. Her body fidgets lightly from her seat.

"Sweetie are you okay?" A soft voice  suddenly called her attention which snapped her from her trance. Jisoo then looked at the woman besides her and softly shakes her head.

"It's nothing Eomma. I'm just a little tense cause it will be my first time attending such a formal event like this."

"Jennie said that it's just a birthday party but Irene Unnie once told me that this one will top all the social events ever held here in Seongnam."

"And based from the dress your stylist made me wear, I think Unnie was not over-exaggerating." she answered while looking at the beautiful black dress she's wearing, earning her a few soft chuckles from the older woman besides her.

"So...what can you say about your dress Sweetie?" Her Eomma asked her.

"It's the most beautiful one I have ever had Eomma."

" It's not expensive, right Eomma?" Jisoo suddenly worries the moment she remembers the wrist watch that her Grammy had gifted her, which the old woman assured her that it's not that expensive too. She later on found out how much it really cost and boy she was thunderstruck.

And right now, Jisoo feels the same thing  about the dress too.

"Oh dear, it's nothing." the older woman answered with a light smirk on her lips which didn't scape Jisoo's keen eyes.

"Oh gosh, it's expensive, isn't it Mother!?"she reacted panicking.

"Jisoo, you are priceless. There's no such thing as expensive when it comes to you." the old woman answered non-chalantly and Jisoo can't help but shook her head.

"Eomma it does matter to me."

"I grew up working for the things that I have and so I always settle with the things that I can only afford."

"Oh..I'm sorry Jisoo, do we overwhelm you?" she asked worriedly but the young woman could only smile at her.

"Please don't get me wrong Eomma, I'm really thankful for everything that you and Grammy are giving me. It's just that...."

"I don't want to get used to these." she answered sheepishly with here head bowed down. The old woman then stared at her and smiled.

"Does it make you uncomfortable Jisoo?" her Eomma asked with genuine concern but Jisoo responded shaking her head.

"No Eomma. To be honest, it makes me feel so loved and appreciated." she answered with all honestly.

"It's just that,I'm not used to this kind of stuff, getting love from a family and I'm still adjusting to it."

"This beautiful dress, my make over, the ride we're taking, it just feels so surreal. It's like I'm  Cinderella and I'm suddenly living  in a fairytale and you are my Fairy God Mother." Jisoo uttered coyly, earning her hearty laughter from the woman.

"Sweetie, you are no Cinderella.."

"You are better than that cause you don't need a prince charming nor a princess just to have a better life.

"You are Kim Jisoo, the woman who works hard for herself and everything about you is beautiful and real.

And no Sweetie, I am not your fairy Godmother..."
