I Don't Want To Go Back

I’ve decided to take a break from studying. It’s already MTLE month today. I’m kinda nervous about it, but I’ve decided to take a quick break. Kylo already  said yesterday na may nahanap na siyang spot na p’wede puntahan namin.

Bukas nalang daw namin paguusapan dahil busy siya today. They’re finding a review center for their board exam, kasama niya raw sina Fin.

I don’t even know why is he updating me. But I like it. Like how he keeps me updated by what is he or they are doing. Not every minute but still, I appreciate it.

I’m currently watching a Korean series on Netflix, why eating instant popcorn I brought last time. While sitting on my couch.

I had no plans for today. I just wanted to finish this series bago matapos ang araw. But I snapped out a bit when my phone rang, sign that someone is calling.

I paused the current episode before reaching for my phone on the center table of my living room.

It’s Kylo.

I answered the call and put it against my left ear.

“Yes?” I spoke first after clicking the answer button.

“Hi,” he greeted.

“Hello nga, Kylo.”

I heard him chuckled over the phone, kaya hindi ko na rin napigilang ang ngiti ko dahil tumawa siya. Wala namang nakakatawa, pero bakit ngumingiti ako at tumawa siya? The hell.

“Naka-hanap na kami ng review center,”

“That’s nice. Saan location?”

“Sa Rockwell Center,” He answered. “I’ll be with my three bodyguards.”

I chuckled, when I heard the three opposed over the phone.

“Pst! ‘Wag kayo maingay, bebe time nina boss. ‘Pag tayo walang sahod this month, kaltok kayo sa ‘kin.” Narinig kong sigaw ni Gio, medyo malayo ‘yung boses niya pero rinig ko naman.

“Don’t mind them, they’re out of their minds.” Kylo spoke.

“You have good friends. They’re just a bit noisy.. but they’re nice.”

“Luckily, yes.”

I let out a small smile after hearing it from him. Mukha lang silang magkaka-away palagi, but it’s actually their own ways of telling that they love each other, really.

“so uhm.. hanggang kailan kayo ja’n?” i asked.

“Hm... a month? Or less.” He answered. “Ateneo Professional  offered us five-month comprehensive review. But we declined kasi one month nalang naman BAR na.” He explained it.

“At ma-mi-miss ka niya, Madam Sy!” Gio butted in, that made me chuckled.

“Shut off, Gio.” Kylo hissed.

“Naka-speaker phone?” I asked him.

“Nope. Chismoso lang talaga si Gio.”

I laughed.

“I’ll probably miss your laughs ‘no?” he suddenly asked that made me stun a bit.

My lips formed a downward smile after realizing what he just said.

“You surely will, Kylo.” I confidently answered.

“Right, miss ma’am.” He even agreed. I thought he will oppose to save his ego, but guess what? He’s Kylo, he doesn’t really care about his ego after all. I just knew that after a month of being with him— studying with him. Almost with him the whole day, sitting on the coffee shop next to each other— holding our own Law and MedTech books, trying to focus knowing that we’re together.
