TWENTY-THREE....
I woke up to bright lights seeping in through my window. I smiled stretching my body out under my cozy blanket, smiling even wider when my feet bumped into something at the edge of the king sized bed. I quickly rose to sitting position and noticed both of my baby's fast asleep at the edge of the bed. Jeremiah had his hand protectively on Chinas neck as they snored lightly. I quickly snapped a picture of the precious moment. I let them sleep in a little longer before waking them up for the long itinerary Kravitz had planned for the day. We had breakfast, then we went to get fitted for our wedding outfits and lastly Chuck E. Cheese.
The twins entered the place wide eyed. After getting our wrist bands, Jeremiah literally dove into one of the toy cars they had. China stayed quiet and plastered to side. I squatted to her level fixing her glasses. No matter how many times I had it tightened it always slid low on her nose.
"Nana go play with your brother, look he is having so much fun" I said pointing to Jeremiah who was currently on a carousel screaming. She turned to him and quickly back to me shaking her head vigorously.
"I wanna stay with you" She said turning back to Jeremiah. I knew she wanted so bad to join her brother but she was too overwhelmed.
"Want me to go with you" Guyenne quipped and China nodded sheepishly. Guyenne stood up from our booth taking China's hand in hers they both proceeded to where Jeremiah was. Not long after Guyenne returned to our table and I turned in the direction of the twins and saw them playing with some other kids. China being the loudest of them all.
"These American guys are so bold, I love it" She said flashing us a piece of paper with a phone number. Kravitz and I both busted out laughing.
"I think I just met my future husband" She said her eyes fluttering dramatically.
"Which one " Kravitz said and Guyenne tilted her head in the direction he stood. Kravitz and I both looked over but he had his back towards us.
"Don't look at the same time" She said and we both turned back to her laughing.
We had spent 2 hours at Chuck E. Cheese. We the grown ups were tired but it seemed like the kids were just getting started. I had to force the twins to sit and eat. They both ate quickly and downed their drinks before running back to the play area.
"You look tired" Kravitz said
"Im just tired of being here but I know the twins have been looking forward to this so here I am" I said pouting
"You are such and amazing mom" Kravitz said and I smiled sheepishly
"I know right" I said causing Kravitz to shake her head and laugh.
" I Gotta pee pee mama" China said popping out of nowhere and pulling my arm and doing a two step dance. I knew my child and knew she must have been holding it in for a while because she did not want to miss out on any play time.
"I got it, I need to leave the the oldies anyway" Guyenne said gently grabbing Chinas arm
"I know you lying, Neema get your sister" Kravitz said amusingly
"28 is not old, don't matter the age we are baby girls for life honey" I said high fiving Kravitz
"A high five, my point exactly" Guyenne said and they walked away to the restroom while Kravitz and I laughed
"I'm gonna go get them some more tokens" I said rising from my chair. Kravitz nodded and I walked off in the direction of the cash register.
I was talking to one of the employees when I heard my name. It was almost a whisper, on instinct I turned to see who it was. My phone slipped out of my hand when I saw who it was. Jeremy Caine in the flesh. He quickly walked over to me, squatted and picked my phone up then handing it to me. I stood there speechless. He had a fuller beard and a much lower haircut. He seemed to have gotten more fit. He had clearly been going to the gym a lot.
