The rest of the weekend was a blur, literally my teary eyes had everything blurry. Kravitz stayed at Chace's for the weekend thankfully because I did not feel like coming up with an explanation for my crying every second. He chose Lily.
Monday came by, I was so drained I had no more tears left in me. I donned my navy blue scrubs and chose the no makeup and messy bun route. Once I arrived Trisha came squeaking behind me informing me that I was off Jeremy's service and now under the worst of the worst at the hospital, Dr. Cryer, How befitting considering my weekend was a teary one.
I had officially worked with Dr. Cryer for a month, and it was a pain in my butt, the man literally had OCD. Usually Sherell would have to remind me to take a break, but working under Cryer, I literally ran out the building once it was time for my break. My patients and lunch with Travis were the only things keeping me sane at this point. I hadn't run into Jeremy in a whole month. According to hospital gossip AKA Trisha, he had taken up a three month contract to train some plastic surgeons in London. Every time I would see his face on Kravitz monthly magazine issues, I'd take the magazine to my room and read up on him then slide it back in Kravitz collection before she would notice.
"Earth to Tazeema, did you hear a word I said" Travis said looking at me. I was currently at lunch with him and I was thinking about Jeremy. Lord help me
"No I'm sorry, I'm just tired, working with Dr. Cryer has proven hectic. I literally can't sit and recuperate without being paged every second. I feel like a medical student" I sighed and Travis laughed out really loud.
"Ahh classic Cryer, Collin despises the man. But hey take it as him training you for what's to come. You've always talked about eventually going to medical school"
"Eventually Travis not today" I said burying my face in my hands
"I could arrange for you to be transferred to my service but I have to warn you, no special treatment for beautiful ladies" He said
" Exactly how many beautiful ladies have been under your service" I said playfully wiggling my eyebrows,
" I'll talk to Trisha when we get back to the hospital and have her make some arrangements for the transfer " he said smiling
"Thanks Travis"
"Yea its no biggy, Tazeema we have been hanging out a lot lately and it occurred to me that I haven't taken you on an actual date. Like a proper date where we both dress up, I pick you up, buy you flowers, take you to a nice restaurant, you know old school vibes " He finished smiling sheepishly.
"You had me flowers Travis"
"How about tonight then" he said looking at me like a little kid asking his parents if he could have a sleepover.
"Sold"
The door bell sounded off as I finished off my makeup. I heard Travis greet Kravtiz and Chace and I knew I had to head out before Kravitz went all Annalise Keating on Travis. I walked out to her staring daggers at Travis who looked rather uncomfortable on the couch.
"Hey Travis" I said walking up to him and hugging him
"Hey, I got you these, just like we discussed" He said handing me the flowers
" Thanks , Let me put these in water and we can head out"
"I got it" Kravitz quipped grabbing the flowers from me. "Lilies wow great, her fave" she said smirking and I pinched her arm and she yelped and sauntered to the kitchen as we made our way to the door.
"We're gonna get going Krav" I yelled instantly regretting it when Travis winced beside me.
"Oh I'm sorry" I said smiling sheepishly
