FOUR....
A month had gone by since the seminar, things had gone back to normal. I moped around for a few weeks after Jeremy stood me up but I immediately put that to rest when I saw the E special of him and Lily Elswood discussing their wedding details on television. They looked very happy. Jeremy would occasionally kiss her or whisper something in her hear and she would blush or laugh while the reporter sat there oooooing and ahhing. They definitely took PDA to a whole new level. I was very disappointed in myself for caring because quite frankly I had more important things to focus on like my graduation next week and finding a good hospital to work at. For the past month I put all my focus in school. Both kravitz and I passed our final exams and graduated with flying colors. I also took my NCLEX exam and I passed on the first try.
I was finally done with school thanks to China, my saving grace. She helped pay my tuition fees for the 4 years I had been in school, she always gave me good advice and words of encouragement when I thought of quitting. She reminded me of why I moved back to America. I came here to have a better life, I deserved it. After the graduation Kravitz parents had a little party for us at their house while China planned a party at her club for later in the night. After we said our goodbyes to Kravitz family, we went home to get ready for the part two of our graduation party. We quickly freshened up and made our way to Club Risky. When we got there, we were ushered in and China gave an amazing speech then we dived into the dance floor and partied all night long. After a while Kravitz left with Chace while I continued to party till I got full on wasted and tired. Feeling suffocated in the crowded club, I walked outside to get some air; I sighed feeling the gentle touch of the cool breeze on my face.
"Tazeema" I heard someone yell my name but I continued walking not without turning around.
"Tazeema N-Naidoo?" the person repeated but this time adding my surname as if they were unsure, I turned around; of course it Jeremy freaking Caine.
"Well well well if it isn't Jeremy Caine the upstanding citizen who says one thing and does another" I said slurring my speech. I kept walking; I just wanted to sit somewhere but then I must have missed a step; Before I knew it I was falling face down but then instead of hitting concrete, Jeremy reached out just in time to catch me. He held onto my waist steading me on my feet but he didn't let go even though I could now hold my own. We stood silently his arms around my waist and my hands tightly gripping his arms for safety. I stared into his bright green eyes trying to decipher his intentions with me; his eyes had a vocabulary of its own. I wanted so much to learn the language but then he's engaged to be married. I snapped out of it once I remembered.
"I'm fine, you can let go now" He did as I said and I wobbled a little before regaining my composure.
"Taz you're drunk, Let me take you home" he said clearly annoyed.
"Taz you're drunk, let me take you home" I said imitating him and then laughing at my sad attempt to do so, he joined in my laughter causing me to scrunch my face.
"Why are laughing? " I said and my question was met with a puzzled look
" What did I do now, I'm only trying to help" he said
"What did you do? what did you fucking do?" I said laughing sarcastically,
"How about ask me to lunch and stand me up" I said staring up at him matching his gaze but then his eyes fell; holding a look of sadness. I knew to drop it as his eyes held so much emotion. It didn't last long because he immediately masked it with an indifferent face.
"Something very important came up and...." he continued but he couldn't complete his sentence because at that exact moment I regurgitated everything I had eaten and drank the whole day. Jeremy held onto my hair and patted my back soothing me. He did this till I was done. I was tired, I leaned into him laying my head on his chest. I could his feel his hands moving up and down as if he was unsure of what to do. Finally settling on an action, he lifted his hand and gently massaged my hair.
