Author's Note: Surprise-surprise! There's side stories now! This is for the purpose of explaining the character's background, taking a break from the main characters, etc-etc.
You can ignore this part and any of the side stories if you:
1. Don't have any interest with the side characters' thoughts and motivation.
2. Don't want to have the identity of the Masters and Servants spoiled (While I didn't outright state which Servant is which, the mannerisms and certain things that they say might give off too much of a hint).
3. The side stories have different 'feel' compared to the main.
4. Other reasons and/or all of the above.

There! I have stated all that is needed to be said. Is this really necessary? Maybe not, but I felt that I have a 'decency' or 'obligation' or whatever it is to explain this at least?

Now then, if you're still interested with the side stories, then without further ado, go ahead!

Himeji Station

Homunculus POV

"We've arrived! Himeji, the site of our battlefield!" The man says.

"....."

"What's wrong, doll? Cat got your tongue? You're unusually quiet today." The man asks as he grabs me by the throat.

(You wretched doll!)

(*Crash*)

("Please don't hurt her, take me instead!")

("Silence! I have made up my mind. Re: Anima will join me. End of story!")

("Don't worry, Ge: Quil. No matter what happens, I'll always be by your side. Besides, I'm confident Master Hein can win this.")

"I-I have no words today, Master Hein."

"Good. I expect you to be more obedient from today onwards. The faster I win the Grail, the better. You don't want to suffer more, do you?" Hein says with a sinister smile.

"Yes, master."

From the corner of my eye, I saw a very tall and large man clad in cowboy outfit approaching us.

"Hein Portley. So you're invited too? As a member of the Neutral faction, I thought you dislike conflict with fellow magi?" The tall cowboy asks.

"Well, I can't really pass up the opportunity for a Holy Grail War, you know? Especially after that upstart El-Melloi II dismantled the Greater Grail in Fuyuki.... Tch, what about you, Magus Killer? I'm surprised that someone like you is allowed in this war." Hein says with displeasure.

"Our sponsors would like this war to be as entertaining as possible, so why not add some spice to it? Besides, good ol' Clive Underside accepted their calling out of all the other Freelancers out there. I expect you all to put up more of a fight for our sake, capisce? Not that you can though, wahahaha!" Clive says in a taunting manner.

Master is angry...

"Bold words coming from a stray dog like you. Oh right, you are part of a newly born magus lineage! What was it again? The 'Gunheart'? I bet you're entering this war just to gain reputation from the higher-ups. How pitiful." Hein taunts back.

Clive is agitated.

"Grr, just you wait! Once the war starts, I'll make you beg for mercy!" Clive says as he leaves.

He is leaving?

Clive suddenly stops.

"By the way, let me spill some info to bring you up to speed: I have summoned an Archer class servant. If you want to summon one, then it's too bad! See you on the battlefield soon!" Clive says as he finally leaves.
