"I'm glad the presentation went so well yesterday."

"Yeah, we really pulled it together huh?" They both blushed.

"Yes, I suppose we did." Anghi extended his hand and this time Lavina slapped it.

"For crying out loud Anghi give me a high five."

"A high what?" She put her hand up in the air.

"Hit my hand."

"Uh, ok." He hit her hand.

"Yes, that is a high five."

"Oh, ok."

Lavina laughed.

"Class, Class, quiet down now, we must begin." Lavina and Anghi looked at Miss. Telamar. "Today we will move on to the post war era of Mrs. Cripple's life. As many of you know Mrs. Cripple was widely known for her love of astronomy, but she did more than look at the sky. After she defeated Unora she made sure that it wasn't forgotten like the tale of Cordelia. She made sure her adventures were written down and that everyone was educated about Unora. Even putting this class into play. In a regular history class you would have a unit on Unora and a unit on Mrs. Cripple, but nothing more than that. This class, as we discussed, takes a deeper dive into the chosen ones. Once Mrs. Cripple defeated that awful witch she attended a Marked university and a regular human university. Upon graduating she received her first medal in the Market guard. A year later she graduated from her apprenticeship. She received her weapon for the first time, with it blazing out its true form. Her sword now stands in the Catalin armory. Forever preserved in its essence. Mrs. Cripple wasn't a big fan of the royal experience and even though she was the princess she never wanted to be the queen. She always participated and planned events, but the current ruler, king Leovandero did not take to rule until Mrs. Cripple passed away. Another fun fact is that Mrs. Cripple never ascended the throne. She never became Queen Amilia, she had always remained princess Amilia." Just then the bell rang. "Since the presentations went so well, no homework this weekend." Lavina stood up and left the room.

"How intriguing, right?"

"Yeah, I suppose, but I've heard it all before. Trust me you'd be surprised."

"I bet I would. Are you going to go see your grandparents?"

"Oh I don't know. I'll probably stay here and do something."

"Oh, ok."

"Hey, well, enjoy your weekend Anghi."

"You too Lavina." He waved goodbye to her and they parted their ways. The rest of the school day went by fast and Lavina was so stretching as she watched the sun set. Then she put down her pencil and went down the stairs. One of her favorite things to do was go to the lake in the forest and watch the sun set. So that's exactly what she did, grabbing a flashlight on her way out. Lavina yawned as she sat on the ground watching the sun set. Soon it went down and all she could see were fireflies.

"Ah the sweet cold." Lavina watched the stars reflect off of the lake and then stood up. She grabbed a stick and a nut. She put the nut on the ground and hit it across the lake. "Ace!" Lavina laughed. But then Lavina heard something. "Oh geez, I hope I didn't hit an animal!" Lavina went over in the direction and took the bushes back between her hands. "Oh thank goodness it's just a squirrel. You alright little buddy?" Just then the squirrel scurried off. Lavina went back towards the lake when suddenly she heard a disturbing scream. Then she saw a shadow but no person. She continued walking towards the lake when something hit down in front of her, it was growling. "A gargoyle?" She whispered. All at once the gargoyle abruptly charged her. Lavina jumped out of the way, forcing the gargoyle to hit its head. "What's the matter, why are you so mad!?" Gargoyles weren't typical hostile creatures. They don't really attack randomly. "Your face! Your veins!" She stopped at a tree and once again jumped out of the way. "Please stop! I can help you." All he did was growl and started chasing after her. This time she ran into the forest, getting deeper and deeper into it. She started to pant as she tried to decide what way to go with the beast on her tail. Then she heard him growl again, but what worried her was that she could hear his wings. Just then she frantically chose a direction and ran off. At that instant all around her lit up purple and when she looked down she saw that she had triggered a magic circle. Almost as soon as it appeared the light dimmed and went out. Lavina rubbed her eyes and then suddenly fell as the gargoyle stood in front of her. At that moment the gargoyle suddenly moved to the right. Next Lavina felt herself being grabbed. Someone was taking her away. They really knew the area as they made their way to the street. The person (as far as she knew) wouldn't let her go until they reached the street. Just then she heard the vicious bellow of the gargoyle behind them. The person grabbed Lavina's hand and started to drag her along the street. Then the gargoyle slammed down in front of them and that person stood in front of Lavina. They engaged in a fight and then the gargoyle flew off. Lavina looked at the person.

"Are you alright?" The person asked.

"I- yes."

"Ugh, thank god." The person knelt down to Lavina and put her hand to her cheek.

"What was wrong with him?"

"You saw his veins, right?"

"Yeah."

"Someone drugged him and he seems to be going insane at the moment."

"Drugged him? That's horrible!"

"Yes, but it will wear off." The person extended their hand to Lavina. "Come on let's get you home." Lavina took their hand.

"Ok." The person led her down the road. "Wait a sec, how do you know where I live?"

"Oh that's a good point, perhaps you should lead, I just want to make sure you get back safe."

"Oh, ok." Lavina led them to her house and then opened the door. Lavina let go of them and shut the door. Lavina stood there and looked at them. "Gosh, you look so familiar."

"Lavina, is that you sweetheart? Are you ho-ho-home?!" Oglm dropped his glass and it shattered on the floor. He seemed to be speechless and then teared up. "Amilia."
